It actually looks more like the same back as the Nexus 7 to me.
Yes it does. But the logo looks very "LGish"

For those of you wondering why the nexus logo looked as if it was partially covered. It was just glare

Apparently a LG phone just passed through the FCC and it looks a lot like this alleged Nexus 5. Personally, I would like to see Google do the 2 phone approach like Apple is about to do. They could release a 4.7" Nexus 4 based off the Moto X and release a Nexus 5 based off the LG G2.

This is looking pretty much confirmed. 5 inch screen though...a little bigger than I'd hoped. Shorter and narrower than the Nexus 4 though. Hopefully it's coming soon.
Now this device I'm getting excited about--nearly 5 mm shorter and 1 mm narrower than a Galaxy S4 with a display only 0.03 mm shorter, Snapdragon 800, LTE, NFC and wireless charging. Please have a quality camera and respectable battery performance and I'm looking at my next phone.
(Must not get my hopes up, must not get my hopes up...)
The camera slot sure is big enough for a great camera lol. Battery life IMO is mostly software so here's to hoping (again) that google did some battery software optimization with kit kat. Wow that sounds ridiculous. Kit kat lol
Like I said, I'm buying this no matter what. They would really have to screw something up to lose my money.
I'll also be very happy if it offers the same type of soft plastic rear panel found on the Nexus 7--really liked its feel in hand. The device in the video appeared to have similar styling.
A lot of commenters over at Engadget are pointing out the battery is 2300 maH.
What's the deal with that?

How can this be less wide and less tall than the Nexus 4 but still match up to that video leak which clearly looks larger than the N4 that's right next to it?
Da heck?

Prediction on prices, folks?
I figure $329 - $349 for the base model (16GB probably). And $50-to-70-ish or so more for the next model up (32GB probably).
Please no more 8 GB... please.

And it's already passing through the FCC? When did the Nexus 4 pass through the FCC last year, and how long before it was revealed after that?
With the 8GB Nexus 4 out of stock permanently, maybe the new one is truly coming sooner than we think?
So out of curiosity (and boredom) I took the measurements from the FCC filing + some high school geometry and put the ~5" inch screen atop the picture of the back cover in Adobe illustrator with everything to scale. (and yes I doubled checked the math)
This is what I got. Looks pretty reasonable.
I am sooo happy this phone isn't some Note sized behemoth...

So we think this is the next Nexus based on the large circular camera? Okay, but am I missing something or is it on the opposite side in the FCC pictures? Also, the phone in the video was clearly on the large side. Doesn't make sense. Maybe there will be multiple Nexii, or this isn't anything.
That camera lens definitely doesn't look like it's the right placement or size to indicate it's based on the Xperia Z1. I could be -- and hope that I am -- wrong about it, of course.
