I'm having a hard time believing the phone in the leaked video is smaller than the current nexus 4.
The 2300 battery is because the phone has mostly the same size as the Nexus 4.
They can't put a 3000 battery in a phone that size.
EDIT: Nexus 4 went through FCC October 5 2012 it seems. It was announced a month later.
October should be when the new Nexus will be announced.
And there will not be another Nexus 5, or we would have rumors and FCC by now too. No FCC of a Nexus 5.

Actually LG has made good strides in its build quality. Taking a page out of Apples playbook the N4 uses adhesives to bond certain components in place. I was never impressed with LG's feature (dumb) phones. Then I read a comprehensive article about their decision to improve quality when deciding to build smartphones and so far they've done just that.

Straight from the FCC filing (I converted to inches):
Length (top to bottom): 131.9 mm = 5.169 in
Width (side to side): 68.2 mm = 2.685 in
Diagonal (from top corner to opposite bottom corner): 145.7 mm = 5.736 in
Display (screen size): 126.0 mm = 4.960 in

Agreed. I can't wait to see the front of this phone when complete. I love large screens and tiny bezels (especially when there are no physical buttons involved). It should look amazing.
i dont think it's a 2nd gen nexus 4, otherwise it'd copy the basic design theme.

Initially - I really like the looks of that.....I'd love to have a backup Android phone and iPhone in case of accidents or if I need/want to sell a flagship ahead of a launch.....the 5C, depending on its price will suffice well.
And this Nexus 5, knowing the price point will likely be fantastic, looks the part. Needs LTE and a nice display res as well as a passable camera (better than the N4) and I'll be looking to shell out a lot of money this fall!
Pricing and storage capacity will be major factors here.
Please let the 8GB die. I'd be happy with 16GB standard and 32GB upgrade. Ideally, though, 32/64GB of course (like the One). Hopefully they just stop with the 8GBs like they did with this year's Nexus 7.
And pricing, I predict this'll be a little higher than last year's. But hopefully not much higher than $329-349 for the base model. So either:
$329 16GB / $379 32GB
or
$349 16GB / $399 32GB

I'd argue it'll likely still hit the same price points, but with 16GB and 32GB. I think 2013/2014 are the years 32 GB becomes standard. And we all know Google isn't afraid of teeny tiny margins on their Nexus devices.
16GB Nexus 5 with LTE and a decent camera that looks like what you posted for $299 = instabuy.
I'd be thrilled to be wrong, but I don't think they'll keep the same price range. There are some major upgrades here (LTE, screen, camera, etc).
I think they'll bump the price up slightly like they did this year's Nexus 7.

Ehh perhaps you're right. I didn't realize the N7 price bumped. Haven't paid much attention to price as I merely wanted to see what it looked and felt like, but have no interest in buying one.
Even at the prices you mentioned, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. If Google can do a little more widespread distribution of it and limit the issues they had with the N4 launch, they'd get vanilla Android into a BOATLOAD of people's hands.

They both look like an improvement, though the second one seems a bit unrealistic.
Sorry I meant depth wise. The Droid Maxx is thinner than the Nexus 4 but has a much larger battery.
You know what wouldn't hurt either? A white version out of the gate. Historically, this has never happened so I'm not holding my breath. The other thing is, their white versions, when they eventually come, are ugly (half white half black front). Wish they'd give us a true all white version.
But it seems they're reserving the white versions for GPE's.
Nexus are black, GPEs are white.
Wish Nexus came in all white, too. :T

Doubtful. There have been many people here and on XDA who have gotten multiple replacements of their N4s due to poor build, and various other quality issues.
They doesn't hold a candle to Apple or Samsung when it comes to quality. HTC is borderline. (Irregularities in the One's build)
Apple & Samsung have vast reserves they can pour into manufacturing and logistics. They probably think don't think twice of dumping entire shipments due to quality issues.
The likes HTC or LG are not so fortunate, especially for Nexus products given Google's razor thin margins. They simply don't have the financial clout to ensure meticulous quality control unfortunately, which certainly dosen't help them in growing their brands.
