Verizon just put up a countdown to Oct 28 for the new Droid. I don't know if the Nexus would be announced at the same time, but at least we have an official date to look forward to now.

Yup. And it definitely looks based on the Moto X as rumoured.

Love the size, not so sure about the Moto x (2014) design language.

BTW "Be together, not the same." - could it mean that they're releasing a smaller phone as well?

It means, to me, that people don't all have to have a 4" or a 5" phone, the same, like in the video and some will also have a 6".

The supposed event is for the Nexus 9 I presume. If you remember last year's N5 release, there was no event nor any real press releases pre-sale.

Actually come to think of it, last year there was a rumor that the N5 will have its event on or around the same day as Apple's event as I remember. It didn't pan out. The "event" was a low key press event on the day of launch and focused mostly on KitKat. Likewise the rumor of the 15th of October event hasn't been confirmed so I'd just wait it out.

That seems to be the problem. It will probably be a massive phone with a massive battery and still not get through a day.

hopefully that last video is an indication they are making a nexus android wear watch. I remember last year it was in the works.

While I do not want a phablet (outside maybe the note 4), I would still probably buy a 6" nexus. The battery is my concern. I cannot deal with a 6" screen size that will still struggle to get through 12 hours with 2-3 hours SOT.

It needs at least a full day and 5-6 hours SOT if it is going to be 6"

The source explained to me that Google GOOGL +1.88% had planned to hold an official event for the new tablet, but because it was still fine tweaking Android L, it decided against a ‘big reveal’. Instead the new tablet, and a new smartphone made by Motorola, will be launched via a blog post tomorrow.

Not sure about price, specs, screen size etc but this 15th of October was real then...

I am surprised there was no Nexus 5 price cut yet. Maybe because Nexus 6 price range will be one stop higher thus no direct competition between them?

Good point on the current Nexus 5 pricing, typically right before a new Nexus phone, the previous one has a drastic price cut. Like the Nexus 5 should drop down to like $199 / $249

This part is very nice for the Nexus 9:

I'm totally pumped for the N6, it's the only phone that could make me pass on the Note 4 right now.........bring on tomorrow.......!!!
