Has there actually been any nexus 8 rumors at all?

I haven't seen any. Are there rumors of it being in development or are we just dreaming?

Interest piqued.

I'm skeptical, though.

----------

One really has to wonder if this is another control leak by Google.

Akin to the "accidental" leak of the Nexus 5 in Google's official Kit Kat video.

Maybe this is how Google rolls now... instead of trying to seal leaks (a near impossibility), Google is simply using it to their advantage for the free publicity and coverage.

My gut still thinks this is merely just a marketing render error.

Here is the image itself.

I don't think it's the Nexus 8. I think it's a rendered display (the entire front, I'm saying, has been replaced with a rendered image) on top of some tablet that very well might be the Nexus 7 - holding mine at that angle, it looks really similar.

There is no camera visible. I am pretty sure we'd see one.

I'd love a minimal-bezel N8 like this. I hope I'm wrong. But I really, really doubt that the new Nexus 8 was inadvertently leaked on one of android.com's main tabs. I think it was just altered to make the display more readable.

My thoughts exactly. The left edge of the LCD is jagged, unlike the edge of the tablet. They were probably different resolutions and the person didn't paste it right. Plus there's no glare, its easy to tell its a bad graphic design job. Also like you said there's no camera. A dead giveaway.

We shall see, though. It looks like its running KK and supposed to be based off the LG G Pad 8 tablet. Guess we'll find out sooner rather than later. But I'm hoping for it!

Well... what do you guys think?

They look really identical. This was the picture that leaked on the Play Store and it was the Nexus 10.

There's no way she'd be holding an N10 in one hand like that. I'm not saying the N10 won't look like that - just that it won't be narrow enough for a woman with presumably average sized hands to hold like that.

Wow, it really is the same design. Either they spliced a shrunken pic of one of those into that picture, or its a N8 and it has the same design as the N10.

Only chance is announcement alongside the next nexus 10.

I will wait only this month to see what happens. I don't think they will release the 10 in December...

I think it is very, very unlikely that they will produce an 8 while they're still making the 7.

Reason (aside from money) I'm sticking with an iPad mini retina and not picking up an N7 and iPad Air is the massive bezels on the N7.....really is an ugly device.

A Nexus tablet that looked like the one pictured here though would be nice.

People that actually own the Nexus 7 (myself included) have no problem with the bezels. They arent that big and they are super useful for people who like to turn to landscape and game (many games use landscape and we all know the N7 is a gaming powerhouse) or simply watching media. Gives your hands somewhere to hold and prevents your hands from covering the stereo speakers or accidentally hitting the on screen buttons.

Youre overreacting about the bezels. They don't make the device ugly and don't take away from the device at all. Another example of making a poor decision based on how something looks. My room mate who owns an iPad 3 used my N7 this weekend and commented about how good it felt in his hand. Enjoy your iPad retina that costs nearly double the price of the Nexus 7.

Why even post here? To make yourself feel better for buying an iPad instead? Congrats, you overpaid for your tablet. I could buy nearly two N7s for the cost of a retina mini. Those who bought the Nexus 7 simply got a better deal, let's face the facts.

By the way, you have too many devices.

The Nexus 10 was never leaked on the Play Store. That is a fake pic using the Nexus 5 wallpaper.

As has already been stated, the picture on Android.com is likely the Nexus 7 (2013) and was altered with a rendered screen that hides the large bezels.

Clearly, it was a controlled leak by Google once again! Just like the did the Nexus 5 in that video. They knew what they were doing...

Ok I can't 100% trust that it is a leak of an actual 8" Nexus tablet, yet.

But if they are making a 8" Nexus, I am selling my N7 and getting it immediately. I love the N7 as is, but that is the ONLY bad thing I can think of with the N7, it needs 1 more inch and it's freaking perfect.

LG V10 maybe is a 3G/LTE version of the LG G Pad.

But it's very interesting. I dont want to get my hopes up because it probably wont happen, but it would be so great if it turned out to be true.

I don't think so. I have to agree with JSW, that it's a render (and poorly done at that). Take a look at this link that was provided in the comments section of the second article.

It makes much more sense that the device that just passed through Bluetooth certification is the LTE version of the LG G Pad 8.3 (V510 vs. V500 for wifi only).

Now I certainly may be wrong--didn't think Google would release the Nexus 5 without a lead up announcement and we all know how that turned out , so take it all with a grain of salt.
