Note 4 vs Nexus 6

Except the reviews are saying the opposite. Let's see, believe reviews from multiple established major tech blog sites or a lone person who has an odd, creepy hate for an inanimate company.

BTW is it just me, or is it possible this is pedrocm back from ban land?

None of those established major blog sites had any negative performance comments about its predecessors either.

I hope it's great, but I don't see how it could compete with a Nexus device.

PS, you don't get banned for discussing devices. Sorry negatively speaking of a Samsung offends you.

Enjoy your Samsung, no amount of owners bias will fix its performance issues.

Fact is, no review talks about the lag/stutters. It's always "the best yet". A few weeks after release the threads are littered with lag issues and people with owners bias denying it. A few years later when those owners sell their prized possession, they finally admit it.

S4 threads are still littered with 'no lag since update' yet owners claim it never lagged.

Put up or SHUT up. Videos of the Note 4 lagging please. S4? I could care less about 2 year old hardware, you couldn't find a stupider argument than that, oh wait the Samsung captivate lagged 4 years ago, right? Doh.

Out of all the Samsung haters I've challenged not a single one has taken my challenge. Find me an app you think lags on the Note 3, I'll reboot my Note 3 and an iPhone 5 side by side and video them opening and using that app. Please be the first Samsung hater to not be a wuss and give me an app that "lags".

----------

Time will tell.

Or a professional company who makes a living rating the quality of displays. But you know, facts and all those pesky things just get in the way. Blind rage and apathetic hate towards a company always works better.

----------

There is so much hate for Samsung on these forums......
You would think they slept with his wife and kicked his dog or something.....

It IS weird to a creepy degree. I mean is it possible that some Samsung employee ran his dog over years ago or something?

Lol. I bet if I took the time to watch existing review videos I could find time marks to point out animation stutter. I've done it before.

This has gone in circles. Your not willing to listen to reason or examples from past devices or overcome owners bias for current devices, so continuing the debate is pointless. I'll never buy a laggy/stuttering device, regardless of who makes it.

Would you even be able to admit the S4/S5 has animation stutter/lag? Probably not. See? Pointless.

I'm done.

It's a thread about the Note 4. I've never owned a S4/5 so I can't comment on those. I wouldn't comment on something I haven't owned or at least seen a review stating those deficiencies. There is not a SINGLE review of the Note 4 which says it has significant lag. I'll let you know personally though as I'll pick mine up tomorrow, but an educated guess is you won't believe my review... see? Pointless.

You have to take a look in the mirror to see what's going in circles. Your weird hate of Samsung translates into you predicting what an awful nightmare the Note 4 will be when 1) you've never handled or owned one yourself and 2) Every single review out there is praising how smoothly it runs. You just cannot think in a circular way more than that.

I'll tell you what, buy the phone you like and enjoy it. Get on the forums and enjoy time with other phone lovers. Post a concern if there is an issue and maybe others will help to solve it or point you in the right direction. But I think we are all just sick of the "Samsung sucks" and "Samsung is evil and will steal your children" cries.

I have many phones. Nexus 5, iphone 5s, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 Active, LG G3, LG Optimus G Pro, Galaxy S3 and of all of them I like the S5 Active the best. Here is why.

1. The Email app. On the latest Samsung phones the email app is awesome. It has shrink to fit, swipe to delete, and push for gmail. No other phone except iphone has these features believe it or not. I know gmail has these features but I have multiple email accounts and not all are gmail ones so I need an app that has it all.

2. Screen. The S5 Active is the only screen that maintains the same viewing angle from the bottom plus its the brightest. Since I keep it on the table when I drink my coffee and read this is very important. Not even my iphone does this well and the iphone usually has the better screen.

3. Removable battery. I have never charged this phone. Have external battery charger.

4. Back button on the right side. Why the nexus and others don't allow to swap the location of this soft button (hard button on S5 active) I have no idea. The LG G3 however does allow this. On a large phone its just to hard to stretch my thumb across the other side of the screen. This is the deal breaker for me on getting the nexus 6. If it could swap the buttons it would be a harder choice.

5. Brightness and rotation lock in notification bar. Yeah, the LG G3 on AT&T has this removed. Lame. Nexus doesn't have it at all.

6. IR Blaster. Spent the day at the dentist with my kid changing the tv channels in the waiting room. Nuff said.

There are other pluses and minuses but those are the heavy hitters for me.

I dunno, somewhere in West Texas
Note 4 vs Nexus 6

I was all set for the Note but now I'm on the fence. If for anything; my long standing passion for a phablet ready pure android device. I know that the Note will serve me better feature set wise but a 6" Nexus device does not come around often and I don't want to miss out on this opportunity.

On Verizon there is only a $50 difference between both 32GB models in the favor of the Nexus. The 64GB should make it even. Very difficult choice because I already have a 64GB SD card from my Note 3.

I am waiting to hold both Note 4 and Nexus 6 for real to take a final decision at some point in November, but the more I am thinking about it, the more I am inclined to go for Note4. I plan to keep my next handset 3 to 4 years and thus will need flexibility that is brought by removable batery and SD slot.
Screen size is comparable, main Nexus advantage being native android L in my opinion...

I like the hardware on the note 4 but I doubt I'll want to put up with touchwiz, knox, lack of updates, bloat, etc.

Will either get iPhone or nexus probably.

Sexy indeed!
I finally ordered my Note 4 yesterday. Had the opportunity to play with one and a French retailer was offering rebates for early birds. Adding up Samsung 70 EUR cash back and this discount I had to pay less than 600 EUR which kind of offseted the N6 price advantage.
I will get it in 10 days from now!
Next step: buy 128 GB sdxc and an extra baterry or battery case

It has been said that there is a Note 4 Developer Edition coming to Verizon. That changes the game a little bit for me. These specs along with a custom ROM from the dev's over at XDA could be a good match and enough to sway me over the Nexus 6.

You have to be kidding me. This is actually true for the Iphone 6 plus, no one ever discusses there weaknesses but you really can't say the same for samsung. Furthermore, no matter what device you have I bet I can find at least one or two applications that can make it lag due to application bugs and don't even let me start about the lag and stuttering issues on the Iphone 6 Plus. my note 2 never lagged unless I went looking for it......my note 4 is flawless

All Samsung phones are stutter bugs mainly due to the s **t software known as Touchwiz. You cannot compare pure Android to that POS operating system.

Sounds like you haven't played with the Note 4 yet. Samsung's new Touchwiz is actually quite impressive (and lag-free), especially many of the little touches.

Not what I've heard from users at all.

Apparently you are hearing anything then....

The note 4 thread is full of nothing but praise...and so is tech reviews.

I have the note 4, I had the 6+. I noticed lag more often on the 6 plus than my note 4. There were certain things I could do on the 6+ that would always cause a stutter or lag. Not the case with the note 4.
