Note 5 takes top spot in customer satisfaction over Apple 6S+

ACSI data on smartphone models shows that bigger is better when it comes to customer satisfaction. Samsung’s “phablet” Galaxy Note5 gets the top mark at 86, besting Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus at 85. The largest-screen iPhones do better than the smaller models of the same generation. Nearly all of the top-rated smartphones in the study are made by Apple or Samsung, with Motorola’s Moto G as the lone exception.

“The cell phone market has been reduced to a two-horse race between Apple and Samsung, with everyone else fighting for scraps,” says VanAmburg. “Although some other smartphones get solid reviews from media, none have received the high marks that customers give Apple and Samsung.”

I agree....Loved the Note 5! Can't wait for the Note 7 with a bigger battery. If all the rumors are correct the Note 7 will be a beast of a phone!

I honestly still don't know what that was about. Just made no sense. This year should be different, as Samsung is pretty quick with addressing big mistakes. Like bringing back the SD Card and bigger battery in their new flagships.

I live in uk and was not able to get the note 5 as an upgrade from my note 3 as samsung decided the S7 would be better.

me and my fiancee where a little upset.

Now have the S7 edge for next 18 months.

I like it and my fiancee is not sure yet.

note 6 due in uk July/August the EE shop told me.

That means carrier bloated phones are the top for satisfaction? That makes me very sad. Happy for android, but still sad because this reinforces samsungs practices in the USA.. therefore no samsung phones for me

Anyway, this is great news and well deserved as Samsung have done a great job even with the Note5, although I hated the lack of MicroSD, the build quality and performance of the Note5 is very impressive and the SPen SPen Suite sets far above any other Phablet competitor. Good to see my beloved Note 4 in there at 4th, I can fully agree, had it nearly 2years and it continues to serve me well, like a swiss army knife, whether I need to Unzip a file, Play a video of almost any format, change the channel on a tv/set top box/hifi system, take a quick note without having to unlock the phone, or just do whatever your standard smartphones or phablets would do, my Note 4 does a great job.

Looking forward to the Note 7, if I can get a Note 7 64GB, 128GB or 256GB, I'll be happy.

I've debated buying one of those imports a few times, but no volte, wifi calling, and carrier aggregation in USA has kept me away. A fully compliant samsung phone on all 4 us carriers would be a dream. I'm just going to draw my line there. At this point it is not about touchwiz or updates for me, I can look beyond those.

I wrote in another thread...I wish all OEMs still released Dev editions of their phones. They were unbranded and we could unlock the BL and flash any Roms we wanted. Similar to the Google Edition phones.

I want a little more than GPE now that I've been spoiled by these iphone / nexus / moto x pure style all 4 carrier support devices.

The s7 snapdragon 820 being locked down is also a dealbreaker for me, but I want it to also work on gsm and cdma. GPE was just gsm, my expectations have grown!

I really don't care what Samsung produces as they have gone really downhill in terms of quality after Galaxy Note 3. Galaxy S6 battery dies or gets incredibly weak after six months of normal usage and they have countless wifi related issues with their new mid range phones like Galaxy J7, J5, On7 and on5.

Also I hate built in batteries. Where I live, people buy phones off contract and we pay ~$1000 for premium phones like iPhone 6s, Galaxy S7, LG G5 etc and Samsung phones' batteries are worst. It is nice to see LG and Microsoft selling their flagship phones with removable batteries.

Someone happy buying a $100 phone may not have the highest of expectations, hence much easier to satisfy. That goes for almost any consumer product. Just sayin.

Could be, but price wasn't a factor in the satisfaction survey. But I see what you were saying.

Value for the price would have been a good metric.
Customer support would have been a good metric.
Updates would have been a good metric.
Security would have been a good metric.

But this survey didn't include any of these for "customer satisfaction"

My Note 5 is still great. In fact, over a month ago, my Note 5 got wet and was starting to go out. So, I put it in rice for 3 days and it worked great. Then, I find some articles about rice saved phones that go bad in a week or so (usually, because of corrosion). Panicking, I find that a solution is to immerse the phone in 99% isopropyl alcohol for a couple of hours to get rid of the corrosion. After I did this, the phone wouldn't work well, at all. It wouldn't even turn on. After a couple of days, it still wouldn't turn on and I thought now I have a non-working phone that I am still paying for. It sucked. Well, four days past and I just decided to try it again. Lo hand behold, it worked! As a matter of fact, it seems to work better than before. Unfortunately, in the sim tray, there is an LDI (liquid damage indicator) that is now red (signifying water damage) that prevents me from trading it in on JumpOnDemand for the Note 6/7. That sucks but at least I have a great phone, again.
