Does anybody else feel like the coverage on these pocket bombs aren't getting enough coverage, I mean if this was apple this story would be huge not just oh the iPhone blew up so apple recalled the entire line. Think about for a minute I think Samsung is getting off to easy

I think some people aren't taking the issue seriously enough.. media coverage has been alright. If someone in the media were to have had an issue with one of these device I think it would kickstart even more press. But they are talking about it.. seems like almost daily or at least every other day I've heard it on tv.

Thanks for a response but yes it's been reported but I'm saying it feels like back page of the newspaper type coverage when you know if it were Apple it would be on cnn, headline news local news any and everything to discredit the top dog, it's people at my job that didn't know anything about it so I have to imagine it's still not dinner table topic

Yes, I think the tech journos are giving them a pass. But I have seen it been reported quite a bit in the regular press.

It gets,less coverage when the company IMMEDIATELY recalls the phones with no hassle.

Apple in the past has had some major design and component flaws which they denied for months and then finally tried to rectify with something like a phone bumper or,telling users, "You're holding it wrong".

This is why the media jumps at them a little harder.

For a company that prides it self on taking shots every chance they get. I can go to all these tech sites and find maybe 1 article just saying oh Samsung recalled the note 7, but if I google note 7 explodes just yesterday a 6 year had one blow up in his hand wtf.

News media tends to use what causes the most controversy and sensationalism.

Samsung stayed ahead of this bomb(no pun intended) by their swift reaction in getting the phones out of the consumer's hand and offering S7 and S7 edge replacements, hassle free.

If this had been Apple, the usual tech sites would have gone nuts and expect to see the editorials on how could Apple be so negligent. They will go on and and write full length editorials on how removing the headphone jack is a bad thing but nothing on how could Samsung release a phone with this potentially lethal problem.

The media covers what it wants/feels it should.

You know how many people died or were seriously injured due to faulty vehicle airbags before they were ORDEREDto be recalled?
I bet not.

And that issue had far greater consequences than a phone battery.

In the end it doesn't matter what comparisons you make.

It's about exposure.

It's strange because everyone where I work kept coming up to me asking all about the Samsung recall and wtf was going on with the Note 7.

I guess I tend to read more tech and consumer articles than many people or their coworkers here.

I know they were urging people to drop by any authorized carrier versus mailing it, but remote kill? That's definitely hardcore serious.

It's all over the news and you would have known unless you are living under a rock.

Samsung did the responsible thing and replacing these devices.

If this has happened to Apple, Apple would most likely ignore the problem and blamed the users.

Also, what does this have to do with the iPhone and why is it in the iPhone forum?
