I really do like the design, mainly for the FLAT screen and industrial look. But that sucks to hear about the poor haptics and weak vibrations, to me that's a pretty big deal to have on a smartphone. And the camera as expected sounds just average nothing to write home about.

Does the Nothing Phone 2 compare to the Pixel 7 or Pixel 8 in a few months?

I know it's a brand new phone but any idea on battery life?
Battery life has been great. I've been ending the day with about 40% battery life. But, I keep my SIM in my iPhone, so I'm not the best person to ask about battery life.

The camera is definitely just okay. I took some pictures last night (about 9pm) while on a walk, and a few of the pictures came out blurry.

Aside from the OS and the glyphs (I love the glyphs and I find them useful), this phone is average. If Nothing did not allow me to keep the phone, I would have returned it.

It is a very nice looking phone. I like it and am sure it will evolve as a brand over time. The glass back is fun. The glyphs are cool.

I appreciate all your pictures. I hope you give a good review of the software which I am most interested in as well as I think they give 3 years updates?

I have heard that the UI is very similar to vanilla Android but does have a very unique feel and some extras. I hope they at least try to extend the security updates to 5 years. I can see someone using this phone for 5 years if they could.

Anyway, congratulations, enjoy it.

What phones are you guys dumping to buy this Nothing 2?

Not dumping ... yet.
I always get asked to gift something to a family member in need. Emergency of course 😁

On the "chopping block" is a Thinkphone and OnePlus 10 Pro.

Update: Seems someone's Z Flip 3 decided to stop receiving / transmitting calls. Copied it to the 10 Pro and all is well. The ZFlip 3 was bought shortly after launch day.

I love the little touches Nothing sprinkled throughout stock Android. I especially like the lock screen widgets. Nothing OS is CRISP. I hope Nothing does not pull a OnePlus and completely layer stock Android with their own launcher/design in the future.

Your thinking is flawed: moral failures of others do not entitle you to do the same. If everyone would do that, the world would be an even crappier place than it already is.

But then again, in our modern society everyone seems to know what their rights and entitlements are, moral duties… not so much.
Lol, seriously? You know people get these for free to make a review right? They don't have to send them back. You are ok with that right?

Sure some guys like Flossy give them away but still someone is getting one free when he does that.
Apple, Google, etc are billion dollar company's.

I don't care what any of you think. If they send me an extra by mistake, I'm keeping it and you can play the moral card all you want & i dont care.

Good for you, you will send it back and feel better and be a sucker and will gladly pay for the charger you didn't get with your $1200 phone so they can get another $50 from you,.... whatever makes you happy. Just don't be judging others.

Update on setup:

Copied data over from another minimal install Android device. Did a cable device to device. Took about 20 minutes.
Nothing provides device to device transfer for both Android and iOS.

OS did an update to 2.0.1
Only install issue was updating Chrome: Fast and Secure - not sure but it fails during update. btw - I don't use Chrome

Device so far is fast and very fluid. In hand it feels substantially lighter (weight) than my iPhone 13 ProMax. Interestingly, I have grabbed one device for the other when both are sitting on my desk. In hand, the Nothing 2 feels better and more comfortable. I'm going to spend some intermittent time today going through the apps (I added 21 apps I use) and seeing what is junk, what works well/poorly, and what I can/cannot uninstall.

Really liking the Nothing look. Wonder for how long ...

btw - I could not get this device to work properly with AT&T but it is working fine via Mint Mobile (TMobile). I am using a physical SIM.

For those curious, the back of the NP2 is curved at the edges and makes for a nice fit in hand. The front has minimal bezels and is flat, no curve at all on front. The sides are matte in color (I have the grey model), look and feel like aircraft aluminum. The buttons look like they came right off an iPhone. It fits in the hand very well

Sound is decent from the on board speakers.
Sound via the Nothing Ear 2 (NE2) is frankly damn good.
Vibration (haptics) can be set for calls, Notifications, and touch feedback. Feels "sharp".

Nothing has also put an iconpack in the Playstore that will mask-over all icons. Some of those I installed the default icon pack does not have one for.

Nothing did a really good job of creating icons for the apps that don't switch automatically. They look great!

Here are the icons Nothing replaced that didn't switch over automatically: Translate (lol, oh, Google), the Meta apps, Amazon apps, and Hello Weather. They look great. My S23U is off and I am using the P(2) as my main Droid. I don't miss Samsung's OS.

😂🤣
I have to chuckle as I am doing the exact same. S23U is in wifi only mode and SIM is in the NE2.
So far I am impressed.

Fill your boots mate. Speaks volumes on he person you are.

Applying your logic , I happily will continue to because ‘I don’t care’ LOL
Seems you do, and you have no idea the kind of person I am lol.

You favor a billion dollar company who gives phones free to those who review and don't ask to sent them back. Maybe you should go on those that review on their YouTube and tell them to send them back because you think it's wrong. Lol

Keep a phone, send it back, either way I don't care but I won't call you out either. Sounds like jealousy to me to give a crap.
