That is some crazy challenge, I think. I assume they're talking about active calories, ones burned from recorded activity. For me to burn about 700 some or 800 some calories via activity requires me to do a long run of about an hour which is about 7.5 miles. I can't do that 14 times in one month. Right now, that would be way too many times.
I do a mix of running, dancing, walking, HIIT, and cycling, and since April my daily average is 1,020 calories per day. You think mine is crazy; webbuzz’s is 1,550 calories/day.That is some crazy challenge, I think. I assume they're talking about active calories, ones burned from recorded activity. That is pretty awesome that you have such high active calories! Awesome!I do a mix of running, dancing, walking, HIIT, and cycling, and since April my daily average is 1,020 calories per day. You think mine is crazy; webbuzz’s is 1,550 calories/day.
Before I got sick I had got up to 1500 a day. Now I'm on 1000 but hope to get back to 1500 before the end of November again. That is pretty awesome that you have such high active calories! Awesome!
I agree - this is a pretty stout challenge. But, I'm betting Mackilroy can do it because he probably averages pretty close to that now. That is some crazy challenge, I think. the challenges were quite different up until 2 years ago, eg if you did 1000 cal/day your challenge was to burn 31000 cal for the month, if you did eg 60 min of exercise, your challenge was 1860 min for the month, double your move goal every day and so on. lots of people complained as it went up by ~5% every month, didn't allow for rest days etc ...I agree - this is a pretty stout challenge. I average about 110 calories per mile, so my typical daily run of 6-7 miles gives me 700ish calories, and that usually gets me to 950-1000 active calories for the day. If I throw in some weight lifting or core work, the total bumps up to around 1200. Of course, calories burned per mile of running can vary quite a bit based on a variety of factors.
Thanks! When I started last year my goal was only to burn at least 300 calories a day, so doing 1,000/day feels like quite the accomplishment. That is pretty awesome that you have such high active calories! Awesome!
