A real sensor? What bs. They are all digital cameras full stop. If you wanna do “real” - shoot film.

I meant a real sensor upgrade. As Ive already stated, going from 1/2.55" to 1/1.9" is minuscule and will show very little real world improvements

Improvement in anything this small is mostly due to computational achievements. Go APS-C or bigger to reap advantages from a bigger sensor - however then be prepared to invest in post production skills as well.

Ive been a pro photographer for 15 years. Pretty sure I have that covered. I want a better iPhone camera. I have enough DSLR/Mirrorless cameras and lenses.

yep, you have an iPhone 8 so the 12 is an upgrade. However, all the tens of millions with anything newer won’t even bother with the underwhelming and months late 12. I know several who have switched to Android because the 12 is such a letdown, late and going to be super expensive. Apple screwed up every way they could.

How can you say a product is a let down when it hasn’t been released yet? You only know rumours of what the phone will be. You don’t know the facts so again how can you base your response on a product that isn’t here yet?

RUMORS.

None of those updates, even if true, will beat the P40 Pro or the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. By camera upgrade, I mean a REAL sensor (1/1.28" or even 1/1.33"), a REAL optical zoom improvement and a megapixel bump. That list you posted is mostly all marketing BS.

No, Dexter, it is not just rumors. We’ve seen screenshots of the controls for some of those features. Features you claim don’t exist.

Do you know what is a rumor? Your claim that Apple has made “no camera improvements”. That’s just a rumor you pulled out of your rear end, because you’re mad that Apple didn’t deliver the phones on exactly the date you wanted.

The iPhone camera output got better pretty much every year. Let’s judge the new one once it’s on the market then and when results are on the table.

So? We aren’t talking about the P40 Pro or the Xiami Mi 10 Ultra. We’re talking about the iPhone 12 series, which you claimed had no camera improvements. Falsely claimed.

Every time you get caught in an untruth, you change the subject.

Why are you on about the P40 and Mi 10 Ultra now? I thought you bought a Note 20? Did you break your new toy already?

All we have seen are rumors with supposed leaks.

You want a better iPhone camera? I thought you *didn’t* want an iPhone — you bought a Note 20 instead? Or did you just make that up?

And now, you’re going to boast about your credentials, to distract from the facts you got completely wrong?

I’m going to say if you miss the preorder window (device on release), then you’ll be looking at December for the phone. Therefore, you better be there for the preorder window. It’s normally 12.01am pacific time?

I think maybe for the smaller model this may be the case, but I think the 12 and 12 pro (6.1”) will be relatively easy to get a hold of.

why? No 120hz, no camera upgrade, weak 5G, A14 is underwhelming and no better than the A12. Oh, and it will be the most expensive iPhone ever, in the middle of a global pandemic...you greatly overestimate the want for the 12. there is zero reason to upgrade unless you have something older than an iPhone 8,

I expect that supply will be limited due to ongoing events, along with the standard demand for new phones.

Im sorry but a company who has phones that START at $700 and laptops that average nearly $2,000 in price are by no means products for "everyday people". Unless of course you live in Beverly Hills and consider millionaires "everyday people".
Yea I can justify the phone since I use it so much and can finance, but the MacBooks have done way out of range lately. There was a point when they were a smidge over $1k, and I was considering it if my PC Laptop died, but then the price flew up one year. Got a decent PC one that does everything I need for a third of the price. Phones were decent pricing until installment plans started. And then if you look at pricing after that, it went up much faster than it ever did previously. Watches are the only thing reasonable yet. iPads are even flying up in price lately

I think all computers have gone up in price though. My Dell Precision Workstation laptop cost £3200 and if I could get a MacBook that was as capable, I’d be straight on it due the fact the interface and user experience is so much nicer.

The 12s next year is probably going to be what the 12 should have been this year, I'm just going to wait for that.

Unlikely to upgrade, I've had my XS Mac SG 512GB since Launch Day 2018, and it's been great for me, I may get crap for what I will say, but when Apple releases a 1TB iPhone, I will be buying that, only because I buy all my TV shows on iTunes, and actually use my current XS Max to watch videos when I'm either out, or just feel like it, also use my 12.9 Inch iPad Pro, but I like having the same stuff on two devices, right now I have the 1TB iPad Pro 2018 SG.

Actually, the rumored camera features include:

* Larger 12MP sensor: a 1/1.9” sensor will capture almost twice as many photons, giving nearly 2x low-level performance.
* Sensor-shift stabilization (for all lenses?).
* Additional lens elements for higher optical quality.
* Reduced focusing distance (2 cm closer) for macro photography.
* Improved Smart HDR (now called Smart XDR?) for better dynamic range.
* Enhanced night mode. (Now for all lenses?)
* Better autofocus due to larger sensor and LIDAR.
* Better portrait mode due to LIDAR.
* 240 fps 4K video.
* Bit-depth video.

This is why you look like a fool.

Isn’t there a rumored 3 x optical zoom as well vs. the current 2 x optical? Ah, yes, I see that now in your 3rd point.

I have the iPhone XS Max and can’t wait for the iPhone 12 Pro Max, especially because of the camera. I normally wait 2 years for an upgrade, sometimes 3 since we don’t have the subsidies anymore.

As for November......Be happy it’s November not much later
5G not going to be benefit the majority of people at this point in time
Let’s give Apple credit for getting an IPhone out in these crazy times

I have an iPhone X and I usually don’t upgrade ever year, maybe 2( pay for it outright).

although having seen my mother’s iPhone 11 Pro photo taking ability especially at night was game changing. It was that remarkably better, so I can’t wait for the next one
