So discussing issues about a phone is rage bait? Yeah, seems like you are upset.
I’m terminally online, low effort bait like this won’t make me upset, you gotta try harder.

Someone pointed this out earlier:

> Feel free to add any other issues you’ve experienced. This is a ridiculous level of hardware issues for a Pro phone. If you seem to think none of these issues exist, refer to the links below: <snip>

This is copied directly from your own OP. Sure looks to me like someone wants to stir up something because there are too many negative comments about Air. And yes this was the reason I linked your other post.

But you’re right, since I’m participating, I should try to contribute. This was what I posted earlier:

> There are issues for every new iPhone release. Maybe it's widespread, maybe it's not. Only Apple has the data.

I don’t have the issues you listed, but I don’t doubt there are people who do. No product launch is perfect but it’s pointless to discuss how widespread or common they are without access to Apple’s data.

But that’s not what you wanted though was it? You didn’t actually want discussion, you wanted people to rile up people to pile on the same way others piled on the Air. Have some self-awareness, it’s helpful.

Sure, whatever you say pal. Maybe you need to get off the internet.

This really isn’t an 17 series issue or 26. My 14 pro has been doing this before os26. For last couple years. Not sure since new. Noticed within last couple years.

You’ve forgotten to mention the screen lottery, I suspect a function of the “lowest bidder” competition.
What’s at stake this time? I remember with my X and 11 Pro that the screens (had both replaced twice) on each unit was different, aspecially displaying white in landscape or grey in low light. My 15 Pro is almost perfect however. Are the colors different with the 17‘s?

I have a Pro now (albeit in a more protective case this time). We ceremoniously destroyed and disposed of the box yesterday so that I can't 14 day return it again. I love both the Air and Pro for different reasons, but I decided the Pro better suited my needs by a reasonable enough margin to stick with it. The love and connection to the Air is visceral for me, though. Might be back next year depending on improvements.

I have been reading some of the other replies and wanted to say sorry if I came across dismissive of your concerns. There are enough people discussing them, that they are real and valid (even if I've had good luck).
Your reply made me lol…….id not thought of destroying the box to end the possibility of an ongoing return loop!

I also moved from the Air to the Pro in my case for camera related reasons, I absolutely loved the design, weight, feel and concept of the Air and really wanted to keep it, I hope we get a fold with at least 2 cameras next year.

My Pro was decent first time too so no need to burn the box!

Ive had to return 2 17PMs due to a grainy screen and dead pixels. The one i have now is still grainy compared to my 15PM.
I thought we’d moved past dead pixels, I always used to check for them on both LCD and OLED. Sorry to hear you have been that unlucky on 2 different devices.

Because this is an echo chamber and not a good indication of the quality of the iPhone. It might be worse, it might be nothing. 🤷🏻

I agree it may be worse or it may be nothing, but then just scrap the forum altogether? I mean, since none of us have actually handled every unit of a device, should we abandon discussion because it might mean nothing?

I consider the forums to be an invaluable source of info because other people will have experiences with a device that I can't have until I buy one. Before giving my money, I'd like to see what others have to say. I don't know about you, but if someone says this is the first time their iPhone dropped from waist height while in a case and still chipped, that doesn't fill me with confidence. If you have a 17 Pro, hopefully yours is pristine after 10 drops, but this is the kind of stuff I want to know, even if it is an echo chamber. I wanna know if someone got scuffs and dents very quickly and I want to hear if someone's phone is fine. It helps me make a decision should I consider purchasing one.

And "it's an echo chamber" can be said about every thread of this forum because we as Apple enthusiasts are a very small minority.

Apple don’t really manufacture anything, it’s all outsourced and made to their design and spec.

That doesn’t let Apple off the hook.

Quality control of the outsourced manufacturing of components, and final assembly, is the responsibility of Apple.

I don’t see any other logo on the phone other than an Apple.

I didn’t say it should let them off any hook, I was pointing out for those who keep saying Apple made this that or the other mistake that Apple don’t make the mistakes…..their outsourced manufacturers do.

Dropped on tile floor and no damage. Was in case.

Don’t have that issue.

Don’t have that issue.

Don’t have that issue.

Nothing will be perfect. There will be minor, isolated issues with all new things.
These seem more than minor when you look across the internet. This years phones do seem to be suffering from new build problems in India's production lines compared with Chinas highly polished production lines, probably due to China making iPhones for so many years and having better expertise.

Cutbacks in using cheaper internal components and less precise assembly is bound to occur as India takes over for the US market and QC issues seem more prevalent this year, as I think yields are down but they have sell the products.

I do not remember this many issues last year at all. Also what happened to the "yes I always go naked" phone crowd this year?

I guess QC will get better as India learns precision building techniques, China will be the better build for years to come but not for the US Market as all phones for the US will be built in India for 2026 by Tata.

Fair enough. You did state that.
