Why is this relevant? Apple doesn't (and will probably never) support OpenCL 2.x anyway, given that their focus has been on Metal since its release.
Since their apps (i.e. FCPX) use OpenCL, they probably will support OpenCL 2.

OpenCL 2.0 has HSA 2.0 compliance.

Its not important for Apple. Its important for the industry.

OpenCL 2 has unified virtual memory, where the GPU and CPU use the same memory addresses. That's a huge change that affects the macOS kernel and the entire driver/framework stack. Given that CL 2.0 was released nearly 4 years ago and Apple has shown no indication that they will support it, and have since released their own API with Metal, I just don't think OpenCL or OpenGL is a priority for Apple.

As far as I know, Thelma Schoonmaker is the only big editor who still uses Lightworks. Apparently she has a separate assistant who's main job is to convert material from Lightworks to Avid for the rest of the departments.

Hi folks,

Posting in here too on advice:

Looking to have 2 graphics cards for the 5.1, native Mac 680 for OS and a new 10 series for Windows via Bootcamp.

Will get an external PSU for the power but anyway of launching the above? I'm on Windows7 x64 ultimate if that makes a difference?

If i purchased non flashed version of 1080/1080ti, will the PCIE speed on bootcamped mac - windows 10, run at 1.0 or 2.0? I understand that flashed cards by macvidcards will set the video card at PCIE 2.0 and nonflashed cards run at PCIE 1.0.

GREAT NEWS, everyone! An NVIDIA customer care rep just made a post on their GeForce forum:
NVIDIA recognizes the desire Mac users have for the greatest functionality and highest performance. Next week, we’ll be posting a new driver that enables Pascal-based graphics cards and allows these users to have a significant increase in both.

The wait is over! I almost can't believe it… at long last, we're getting our Pascal support!

It's happening
