It looks like RX 580 prices are coming down. There are a couple 4Gs for $249 on Newegg right now.
That was the price I paid for an RX480 8GB. Surprisingly, RX580 8GB cards are cheaper than the 480 variants. So they're becoming more viable. It looks like RX 580 prices are coming down. There are a couple 4Gs for $249 on Newegg right now.
I recently updated to the latest nVidia webdriver and all is good! If it supports the GTX 1060 you should be good.Is there still an issue with it? I have a 1060 and would like to upgrade to High Sierra - preferably at 10.13.1 or later. I am assuming that, with the new 10.13 driver, it's fine?

Thanks! Now, all I have to do is wait for my CS6 applications to work under High Sierra
As fo the GTX 1060, I really gotta get rid of this once the RX 580 becomes a decent price. GTX 10xx cars are still horrible under OSX. The 1060 happens to be the glitchiest of the lot.

I was considering that, but I hate to go from 6GB, down to 4GB. I'm interested in the Sapphire RX 580 8GB Pulse, but it still costs nearly $400 to buy.
Your CS6 applications aren't working? Photoshop CS6 works fine for me. I haven't tried others though.
I thought CS6 was discontinued in 2012? I thought it was all creative cloud now.

I just managed to snag a like-new RX 580 8GB Pulse for $265! I could have waited until prices dropped further, but I don't know how long that would take, and I'm really getting sick of having to - after waking my machine up - log out and then in again, so as to make GTX 1060-related glitches go away...
And, I suppose this has finally just quelled my unneeded anxiousness over everything.
Congrats, I think that's a good price for that particular GPU. Are you going to run one or two/Crossfire? You might get a little more out of them with theitsage's Kext edit. Let us know how you are liking it when you have it up and running!

So, yes - loving it so far! Once the cost comes down, I highly recommend that Mac Pro users in the market for a new card check this one out. This really seems to be amongst the most suitable cards for such a machine and OS.
Congrats! Glad to hear it's up and running and you're enjoying the card! Once you get 2 installed you can get BruceX FCPX render speeds under 10 seconds. My GTX 1080 Ti takes more than 50 seconds
When in Windows, you should try and Undervolt it/Overclock it Undervolting reduces the total amount of power draw and heat output (perfect for our cMP's)Hahaha - won't be getting two any time soon, but that would be pretty interesting. (Too much $$$, and two other slots are taken up by my boot SSD and USB 3.0 card.)
But, yeah, it really is a great card. I'm so happy that I'm not experiencing UI glitches anymore. OSX gaming performance is also way better. Now, to try Windows...

What I did was pop both my Apple 5770 and RX 580 cards in and install the drivers directly from windows update. After, I removed the 5770 and just used the RX580I actually realized that HDMI doesn't work when Windows is using a card whose drivers haven't been configured yet. (I guess that's why this brand-new card still includes a DVI-D port?) I don't have DVI cables with me - only HDMI; so, I'm not completely sure what to do here. Last time I bought a new card, I happened to have DVI with me.
I wonder if I could put the old card back in, un-install its drivers, then install the AMD drivers and then shut the Mac down and pop the new card in and boot.

Yes, the GT120 would work, but I was under the assumption that you were using Win10. Im not sure about the process for Win7.Sadly, I cannot fit both my 1060 and RX 580 in there. Wonder if my GT 120 could work; but, I recall there being issues with Windows 7 and GT 120s.

I'm pretty sure that, last time I tried having the GT 120 in there while booting into Windows, something went awry.
Is there a way that I can prepare my Bootcamp disk so that it has the drivers for my new AMD card?
I don’t think you need to prepare anything, just install the card and it will display. But if you want to, you can go to AMD website, download and install the lastest driver before you install your RX580.
I wondering if that would conflict with the card that's already in there. Say that I put the GTX 1060 back in and installed the AMD drivers... would I really be able to then just pop the AMD card in later and have it work? I feel as though the AMD driver-installer would have to detect an AMD card.
