@LEOMODE or anybody really that has a clue of what they're doing, I'm getting this error when trying to install fakenvidia.kext with your script in terminal on Sequoia:
mount_apfs: volume could not be mounted: Permission denied
mount: / failed with 66

I've disabled SIP in recovery
Any ideas or help would be much appreciated!

Which installkext are you using?
The latest is at https://gist.github.com/joevt/a4ef4cd2e1485d0dd595893007bdfd6a
The default install location should be /Library/Extensions instead of /System/Library/Extensions

Thanks for your help!
I'm no longer getting that error messgae using the latest installkext you linked above and the fakenvidia.kext is installed to the /Library/Extensions folder but after a restart and I try the sleep function my displays go black for a second but the fans and drives don't turn off and then display is back on again after a couple of seconds? I've also added the correct PCI device number for my 4090 into my Info.plist and shared here for ref. Thanks again for your help!

Did you make the change to the Info.plist before installing the kext?
I don't have any RTX GPUs so I don't know what the correct behaviour looks like.

Yes, I made the change to the info.plist before installing the kext. Not sure what else I can do really at this stage…

Hahaha I thought the same thing.

Is it correct that you are able to connect an XDR-display on the Nividia's in Windows with full resolution?

Who’s going to be first to try and stick a 5090 in their rig?
If it fits physically I might.

Will I need to remove the W6800X MPX though, that’s the question.

If only we had real nvidia support in macOS.

Probably but not because of the slots or dimension.
New rtx 5090 needs 2 slots only.
I think the power draw 570w could be the limitation.

Yup. Have been running the XDR on an A6000 for years, but it would be a nice upgrade if a 5090 fits.

Game Changer

The NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5090 is the most powerful GeForce GPU ever made, bringing game-changing capabilities to gamers and creators. Tackle the most advanced models and most challenging creative workloads with unprecedented AI horsepower. Game with full ray tracing and the lowest latency. The GeForce RTX 5090 is powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and equipped with 32 GB of super-fast GDDR7 memory, so you can do it all.

Starting at AUD 4,039

Available on January 30

Nice card - how does Apple intend to answer that... Price isn't too bad considering. It's cheaper than the W6800X MPX 32GB - that card was $4200 AUD.

I would like to get a founders edition like on the Nvidia site, rather than ones from the partner companies. I wonder what size they will be?

These new Nvidia cards could be a disaster for AMD and Intel.

The RTX 5090 will just about fit, The RTX 5090 Founders Edition is 304mm x 40mm
But it will need 4 8-pin power cables.
RTX 5080 needs 3 8-pin, and RTX 5070 TI and RTX 5070 needs 2 8-pin cables

Forbes nvidia RTX 5090

Are you saying it’s possible to connect it within the Mac Pro 2019 with the 4x8-pin power cables like those from the Belkin AUX Power Cable Kit? Or must we use an external PSU?

The Mac Pro 2019 does have four 8-pin connectors. Each one is supposed to support 150W.
https://www.apple.com/by/mac-pro/pdf/Mac_Pro_White_Paper_Aug_2021.pdf

I suppose you would use the Belkin AUX Power Cable Kit with a four 8-pin to 12-pin adapter.

Unless someone makes a four 8-pin to 12-pin cable specifically for the Mac Pro 2019?

Will the 5090 come with a four 8-pin to 12-pin adapter? I think the 4090 did.

Anyone tried a 5090 inside their 2019 Mac Pro yet? (running on Windows obviously)

Does the Founders Edition version fit OK? Can the required 575W power be delivered OK via the 4 auxiliary power connectors (150W each) on the Mac Pro logic board?

I don't know. I would get ready with a IR camera and current meter...

I watched that report. But the Mac Pro 7.1 probably avoids that problem.
Why?
The PC has one power cable from the PSU to the GPU. And der8auer mentions that the issue might be mitigated if one use more than one power cable from the PSU.

The Mac Pro will be using 4 separate cables connecting to the GPU. And draw power from a few locations. And I would assume Apple designed the motherboard with ability to deliver full power on all connectors.

edit:
I could be mistaken. Just had a look at the details on Apple's tech specs.
Up to 300W auxiliary power via two 8-pin connectors.
The RTX 4090 needs 450W, and that works according to users here on this forum
