That's worrying... I really hope they respond ASAP, although even if they replicate the bug, it's probably not going to be fixed until the next iOS update..

I have ZERO faith in Apple resolving this. Just updated to the newest but it had nothing to do with my problem and it still exists. My hope is someone here might know, I have waited for months for Apple to even look at the problem. It is so isolated they really do not care.

I have some faith since they're responding to my bug report, but I'd be very pissed off if they just ignore it now.. Already spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot this AND install different profiles to get them the logs. Although sometimes it has taken them time to respond, if I judge by their latest responses they should respond this week.

But I don't like where Apple is heading.. Everything started to go downhill 2015 and 2016 seems to only be worse.. I really hope they realise what they're doing and do something to fix it.

I have had and still only have this one complaint about my Apple products. It is hard to think this is just a rare software or hardware problem as both my iPad Pro suffer this fetching problem and yesterday my watch did. I have even reset one of my iPads "as new" to make sure something in the backups was stopping this but it still refuses to fetch, even on difference wifi networks.

Strange indeed. My iPhone started fetching again later in the day yesterday. Yepeee

It sure is strange.. It just starts and stops fetch whenever it feels like for me too, luckily it did that A LOT last thursday when I was logging, so hopefully they'll see what's wrong.

Have you updated your iPP's to 9.3.2?

I've had this exact problem for over a year. I finally resorted to using the Gmail app for notifications and then going into the mail app for replies and management. I can't afford to not have updated email in 10 hours and I have no faith in Apple ever fixing it.

The Gmail app does look promising, but it doesn't support multi accounts which I need.. If they won't respond anymore, than I've lost mine too.

Yes it does. I have multiple accounts linked in my app and jump between them when necessary.

And of course as I say that, my phone stopped fetching automaticly too:mad:
Just rebooted it which helped a few months back when I had it, hopefully it'll work now too...

It's been alnost 2 weeks now and the engineers still haven't reached back yet... Plus the mail app is just getting worse, I'll list what's been going on:

- I've had a weird issue where I come home after a few hours and as usual I see "Last updated {when I last did it manualy}", it starts to update for a split second but then it goes back to the last updated message for around 10-30 seconds, and it refuses to check for any new mails until I wait.. So far I've only seen this on my iPad and it occurs more and more often.. Sometimes multiple times a day.

- Sometimes when I open the mail app, it gets stuck on 'Checking for new mails...' until I kill and re-open the app. Occurs on both my devices, and more frequently just as the 1st mentioned issue..

- Yesterday the 2th issue occured on only one of the accounts I've got linked and it was stuck checking for new mails, I tried my previously mentioned troubleshooting, but it didn't work and I was forced to reboot the iPad, then it was able to check for new mails..

And on top of that my phone has stopped fetching once again.. C'mon Apple!
I know I should probably switch to the Gmail app instead, but I've paid quite a lot for a device that's labeled as 'Pro' and it can't even fetch mail automaticly as it's advertised to?

To add to this story ONE of my 9.7 iPad Pro units started fetching mail every 15 minutes, the other 9.7 unit has not.

Just one day so we will see how it goes.

Good to hear, but it might stop again just like mine..
And currently there's no way for me to know when someone sends me an mail, gotta check manually every time... Hopefully atleast one of the devices snap out of it, otherwise I'll have to reboot my phone.

EDIT: What the.. I just tried an old solution I used a while back(the one where I switched around the fetch settings) and as soon as I was done and set them back to normal, it fetched new mail without the app open.. Hopefully it'll last atleast a couple of days:cool:

Will not know if mine is still fetching until I get home. I guess I am lucky and my iPhone is back to fetching normally.o_O

I sent another message to them asking what the current status of the bug is, hopefully we'll have an answer this time.

Also, my iPad has started to fetch every 15 minutes between ~7PM-11PM(possibly 12AM) every day now, even after rebooting? o_O

And my phone started to fetch normally after rebooting, it's actually been rather quick getting new mails..

Any update? Still having this issue on both my phone and iPad (and have had it on the last two phones). My Gmail account simply doesn't fetch consistently.

Unfortunately not.. Either they've fixed it in iOS 10 or they forgot about it, but the issue is still marked as 'Open' on the bug report site.. And my iPad is still fetching mails whenever it wants to. If it isn't fixed in iOS 10, then I'll try contacting them again!

I can't say for a certain yet, but since I updated to iOS 10 on my iPad it's been fetching mails perfectly fine! And other bugs I used to find in mail on iOS 9 are gone aswell!
