6GB of RAM, do we know what storage this model had? The 6GB on 1TB models only hasn’t been confirmed yet and I’m hoping it’s BS.
I had estimated 15-16k for multicore, 18k is just nuts. I think the only thing stopping them from chewing into the competition re. performance is that their own Macs are still stuck on Intel chips for the time being.

Ouch, “future proofing” is not a relatively big deal for me as I upgrade somewhat frequently, but you have to wonder if this is a possible bottleneck long term.
That is really a bummer! So the real fanboys should have deep pockets this year. Never came to my mind that they might punish the lower spect models with less RAM...
Typing on a first gen 9.7 IPP....I’ve still yet to see any issues with this device, and it’s likely to last me at least another 3 years.
Yes 50% more memory will matter for sure! The more desktop apps like full photoshop get ported the more it matters.

I was probably going to get 1 TB anyway for extensive video & photo editing...but still, I agree with others. Apple should have given 6 gigs across the board since these pros are crazy expensive as is. At the very least on the 512 model as well. But I guess Apple will do this for next years models. Who knows.
Depends on the apps you need to run, I guess. Photoshop and CAD, definitely go 1TB.
That said, I expect majority of apps will target the lowest common denominator—at this point, that's still 2GB. When Apple increases RAM on entry level iPads, that's when you need to worry.
Is it possible that all 12.9in models have 6GB and 11" models have 4GB? Are we able to tell if that Geekbench with 4GB is a 12.9 or 11?
We don’t know for sure yet what the 512 models have, do we? We know the 1TB has 6gb and a different model has 4gb, but that’s it.
We can't know yet unless we match the models like iPad8,3 or iPad8,8 Only Apple knows what those match up to.
I have the same one and switching between apps can be infuriating. I’ll need to look at something in another place and when I come back it completely reloads and I lose whatever I was doing.

and that’s the top of the line bto i7 model. Impressive number for the iPad Pro
I am really amazed at what Apple is able to do, the A12X can’t be using more than 10W either. Intel better watch out!
This is what Apple has done in the past with plus and non plus sized phones. I really hope this is the case.
Well, with the usual proviso that Geekbench is a guideline and not 100% comparable cross platform for a number of reasons, these figures are showing that this iPad is within striking distance of the fastest Core i9 MacBook Pro in raw computing power.
Geekbench has 5343 Single Core and and 22552 for Multi-Core for the i9 MBP.
Now, they’re not exactly comparable for a number of reasons that favor both the iPad and the MBP but they are a strong indicator that, in a larger form factor with more cores, a fan and so on that Apple may well be able to produce a chip that takes on the best of Intel’s mobile.
People can argue the toss on the nature and usefulness of benchmarks but there’s no arguing these chips are incredibly impressive.
Very true. Hopefully we get more clarification in the next couple days as more tests start showing up on Geekbench. Even if that's the case the 11" with 4GB isn't that far behind the 12.9" with 6GB.
I will be upgrading from an original iPad Air lol,so a little bottlenecking isn’t going to bother me.
These benchmarks are a complete joke. I’ll bet $1 million that that thing can’t hold that level of performance for more than 5 seconds before severely throttling.
