I'm happy with my defective eyes and poor standards.:p I've never had any lag on my s4, note 3 or S5.

I had it a lot on my original note but my last three Samsung phones have been lag free, big free, crash free and reboot free :D

----------

I'll happily admit that my original note was a laggy, buggy, overheating piece of brilliance.

Haha nice. Even if the note 3 was laggy there are plenty of other reasons why it's way better (IMO of course)

I'm on the fence too. I love the Note series but hate TouchWiz.

Install NovaLauncher Pro and you'll never look back and will not have to worry about TouchWiz.

----------

I never understood why people say the Note 3 felt cheap, it doesn't. It's very solid, no flex or creaking. The plastic backing is solid and feels premium, it serves a purpose both to be removable and provide the functionality of changing the battery/SD card and also to provide grip and resilience so you don't need a case. The only aspect of the Note 3 I thought was cheap was the chrome surround, and that is mostly a question of aesthetics not quality.

I'd put the Note 3 up against the iPhone 5s in terms of build quality ALL DAY LONG. The Note 4 is going to be that much better.

As for touch wiz, I don't get it. Why the big hate? You can replace the launcher and that's most of it. The whole lag thing is a bunch of complete and utter BS. I don't get the hate at all.

^^ x2 all day long.

Oh and unless apple totally reinvents the way you use IOS you can guarantee that the 6+ is a two hander phone. All the back buttons are in the top left of the screen. On the note 4 the back button is on the bottom left, all the time. Good luck trying to use the huge iphone with one hand.

It's "utter bs nonsense" in your case, while many people with higher standards have experienced the obvious lag/delay slow speed on the Note 3. Don't believe me? Just do a search for yourself, I'm not making it up. I experienced this myself. People who claim the Note 3 has no lag is either fanboys in denial or people who don't put their phones to heavy use. I wonder which one you are?

Lag is BS. there's no lag. please outline where and under what conditions you see lag. I use the heck out of my phone for tons of things simultaneously and there's no lag or delay in anything. In fact replacing some things like the stock SMS app, dialer and launcher will speed it up even more.

They're called gestures. Where's the Note's forward button? ;)

Not discounting the fact that using the 6+ one-handed will be more difficult in many regards, just not as impossible either.

LOL. That's just dumb. Sorry.

What's dumb? I want to go back a screen, I swipe in from the left edge. I then want to return to the screen I was first looking at, I swipe in from the right edge. It's pretty damn useful.

They have a one handed mode. Double touch (not press) the home button and the top of the screen moves down into reach.

There's also the swipe gesture to go back.

Turn OFF animations

Haha nice. Even if the note 3 was laggy there are plenty of other reasons why it's way better (IMO of course)

To all those that mention "lag", the solution that Android has available that Apple never will is to enable "developer options" and disable transition animations. So many people have ZERO clue this can be done, thus they see the transition, even 1x, as lag when in fact, it's NOT. Turn OFF such things and new apps open instantly. Not even a trace of noticeable delay...unless of course the app has to access the internet or network for some reason. Even then, the app fires right up but the connection needs to be made.

Upon consideration, I think it actually stands between the 6 Plus and the Note 3 for me, rather than the Note 4.

There's nothing new on the Note 4 that really makes me crave it over the Note 3 (I'm really not that keen on Samsung's take on the metal edges, QHD meh, and the Note 3's performance/speed is already superb). And still being on a Note 2, the Note 3 will be a huge step up already - and absolutely mind-blowing value for money! I mean, in a month's time it'll cost probably less than half of a 6 Plus.

So, fancy new Apple gear or ultra-cheap with an even bigger screen in a smaller handset...hmmmm... Getting even more of a headache now with this perspective :p

What about the left or right side of the screen? You still have to reach over there to get to that side.
Most Apple users already complain that the iphone is perfect for thumb reach top to bottom and any thing bigger than 4" is too big. Apple's solution didn't think it all the way through.
You need to make a phone call. You open up the dialer. You double press the home button. The screen scrolls down. Now you have to scroll back up to get to the lower numbers and to get to the send button? You also have to reach over to get to the far side. Wasn't this the biggest knock Apple users had against a large screen? Your thumb can't get to the other side.

Samsung did a great job. They shrink the screen to the size of an iPhone 4 or 5 screen. I use it all the time and it works great. Posted this before.

I say get the Note 4. Here are a few good reasons.

1. Removable battery. Nuff said but I'll keep going.
2. 160gb storage space.
3. Universal remote control
4. 3gb ram.
5. Better screen
6. Stylus
7. Better camera by far.
8. Fully customizable.

----------

If IOS is your only criteria then any iphone is better, even the iphone 3g.

Do you know if a camera shortcut will be possible with a passcode set? Miss this from my iphone

If note 4 was waterproof I think I would have bit, but I am going to go ahead and order the 6+ tonight. I will miss many things about my note 3. First and foremost the swappable batteries. I am on the phone about 4 hours per day using data, and talking on the phone. Having extra batteries has saved me many times. Now I will need to carry a ugly external battery pack but alas.

Things I won't miss at all is the note 3 camera. It is garbage compared to the iPhone. You can tweak the photos into something OK but they are crap compared to what I used to get from even my iPhone 5.

The main thing swaying me doesn't affect most. My companies it department has blacklisted all android phones from VPN. This means I need to also carry my laptop, or iPad to access certain systems that I need on a daily basis out in the field. With iPhone I can just log right in.

Seriously. This needs to be reposted so many more times, but I'll do my part here and now.

There IS lag on the Android OS and it comes (intentionally) in the form of transitional animations. Disabling the transitions was the first thing I did on my Tab Pro 8.4 and it'll be the first thing I do on the Note 4 if I pick it over the i6+..it really does change the experience significantly.

The only time I see lag on my note 3 is when apps are downloading and installing and I'm trying to do other stuff at the same time. It's still relatively minor though.

Have to agree, the Note 3 camera is mediocre at best. That's one reason I stayed with my 5s for so long. I hope the N4 has a decent camera, but it does pi$$ me off sometimes.

I find the note 3 camera to be good in good lighting. In low light it's rubbish. However outside I prefer it to the iPhone 5S because of the level of detail you get in your shots. You simply don't get that with the iPhone 5S. Yes it's not As easy to use, however take a few shots and you get great pics. It's never let me down for important occasions and I've been pleased with my pictures.

The OIS on the note 4 should help to improve low light performance and combined with the excellent camera on the S5 it should be a very good camera.
