i returned mine. my fingers were hurting typing too much on it cuz it wasnt as easy to hold especially in bed

Typing ? I cannot remember the last time I actually typed old-style .. The google keyboard (swipe) + pen = win ...

Nah. I like my hand to hurt less when holding my communications device and I do make an average of 10-20 calls a day. I am OK with carrying a tablet instead for other not so important tasks.

I am very happy with my 6.3" Galaxy Mega, and will probably keep getting similar sized phones in future.

It's better for my poor eyesight, not too big for me to hold when using the phone, and has allowed me to get rid of the 7" tablet I used to have.

Cheers :)

Hugh

I know lol... why can't I keep a handset longer than 6 months? :D

Well I bought the S4, my first android phone then bought the note 3 when that came out..so in all in the space of 3-4 months I bought both phones sim free...which cost me £1,160 ...nuts I know.

won't ever leave my note line now though. Will get the note 4 when thats out..but my contract will be up by that but not sure wether to buy it sim free again or not.

I lied.......

I have just gone and bought a Lumia 1520 :D

Right now, for a trial, I have a L1520. I was thinking of switching out my iPhone 5 (secondary work phone). The screen is gorgeous and the thing is fast. Unfortunately, I can't tether with it, I can't customize it like my Note 3, and the app selection is bad. From your posts, I think you will be switching a lot sooner than 6 months.

Yeah sadly that wouldn't surprise me either.

Are their any Z Ultra users here? I almost pulled the trigger on the GPE version a while back. It's hard to ditch the Note 3, and the S-Pen though.

I'm pretty hooked on the 1520. I can't see going back to anything iPhone sized again. My S4's screen looks like garbage compared to the 1520 (not just the size, but the quality of the display).

The first day or two it was awkward but now I really value the size of the screen. It's so rare that I actually hold the phone to my ear to take a call, so that whole argument doesn't apply to me. It fits in my pocket, that's all that matters.

I'm definitely not going back to smaller phones, at least not for daily driver use. After one month with the N2, the 5.5" format began to feel like the normal size for me, whereas my iP4S began to feel unnecessarily small.

Of course the benefits of a large screen will always be a tradeoff against one-handed usability. But with all I can do with the N2, I'll give up one handed use any day. There's just no way I would pass up having all that functionality with me all the time in my phone. Most of the time it completely replaces having a tablet along, which is a huge plus for me. Having to use my left hand now and then is totally worth it, and I'm betting that we'll soon see UI improvements supporting one-handed use for large phones (see the phone I mention below).

As for the "lulz are u speaking into ur iPad lol" stance, this is starting to feel a bit...2011  I just don't see it, not even when a really short person holds up a N3 to speak. But maybe that's partly looking from an attitude based on appreciating large phones for their functionality - opinions will of course differ. For me, what looks really dumb is people squinting at their iPhones on the bus, lol.

For my next phone, I'm even looking to a go touch bigger. Currently I have my eyes on this thing - not so much for the 2K screen (which I don't mind trying out though) but for the build quality, audio hardware and actually the UI, which looks quite fun to use:

Oh my lord, that is sexy ..... And it has the old school style capacitive buttons I love. Just look at those gorgeous bezels.

This is what the new HTC One should have looked like.

I liked it when i first saw it too. To me it looks just like the Note 3 except without the home button......

Sorry for being quite off topic, but why are people referring to 2,560 x 1,440 as 2K? As far as I remember 2K was only slightly bigger than FullHD..

Don't want to be smarta** or something, but I've read this a few times on here and would like know if this is "nonstandard" talk or my knowledge of the definition of 2K is wrong.

Yeah, I'm all over those capacitive buttons too. And still a menu button - far more useful IMO than the multitask button Samsung have just switched too - and the back button on the right - close to the right hand thumb, as it should be (sorry lefties :p).

Not sure on the new One, but I'd certainly like it to have this level of build quality.

I don't like it. It looks cheap to me. different strokes.

Do you mean design- or build quality wise? If the latter, surf around for some more pictures...this thing looks extremely well built.

Honestly I don't know either lol. But as I said, it's not mainly the ultra HD screen (or whatever) that turns me on with this particular phone. Anyway, MKBHD has some good stuff to say on these displays here:

I took my kids to a chuckie cheeses over the weekend and I saw a father outside chatting on his Note three. I will say that it looked incredibly odd holding what looked like a tablet to his face as he talked.

I almost took the plunge for the Note 3 last summer, I think for many of my uses I larger phone may be the answer but I am spoiled by the iPhone's single hand operation, I can easily use it with one hand as I commute into work.

I can easily use my Note 3 with one hand as well if I so choose. There are so many different things that help out in that endeavor.

That's fair enough :)

Swiping is awesome, you just have to get used to it.

Design wise.

Also from the video the GUI (going one screen to next etc..) seem to have quite a few stutters despite the power packed within. Possibly result of pushing that may pixels perhaps ?

I took that as being a developer build but yes, it was a bit unresponsive. I love the look of the phone though and will await to see what the final release looks like.
