OnePlus has a 10% off for students in many countries, UK and US among them. Is the Jelly Scrolling issue still around? I might consider this phone now.

Everything I saw on it was that it was really a non issue. If you can get 10% off, I think that's a great deal. I'd get one if I could with 10% off, however I haven't been a student for 10 years.

Looks like it's a good idea to shoot in pro mode even if you shoot with everything in auto instead of the regular automatic mode. It turns out the modes use highly different compression algorithms and if you zoom in to the small trees by the fence at the middle of the linked samples, the auto mode one has some severe watercolor effect. OxygenOS 4.5.11 is now out for OnePlus 5. I'm glad they included September patches with the BlueBorne fix in the update so I can turn Bluetooth back on again.

What this means is that I'm now slightly less pissed off with OnePlus, but as they still haven't fixed or scrapped Secure Box but distributed it to even more phones instead, I'm still having issues with the company and trying to get rid of my OP5.

That render looks like an S6 Edge... If that is OP5T, I will skip it for sure :)

Rumors I have read, state there will not be a 5T this year, but instead that OPO will release the OnePlus 6 much earlier than normal, more in the first part of the new year,m with the SD845

Looks a lot like the S8 IMO, change that white to black and it may be hard to differentiate from the S8

It's based off the Oppo F5 like the OP5 was based off the Oppo R11. They're just starting to use the designs from their parent(?) company I guess.

All I can say is that I’m glad I sold mine last Friday. For after all, multiple impacts from a baseball bat would’ve lowered the resale value quite a bit.

remind me again, what was your main reasons for returning? genuinely curious. I sold mine due to the camera and the 1080p screen was pretty lackluster IMO. But I loved the form factor, size, and genuinely enjoy OOS

EDIT: I just read your link. That's some crazy stuff!

Camera and losing trust in the company after seeing what kind of BS they’re trying to pull off as security features. Now this would be the absolutely final nail in the coffin.

It’s sad as otherwise I liked the feel of the device, its snappiness and the awesomely fast Dash Charging. OOS was nice too, but unfortunately it seems to have a few severely rotten parts.

yeah, the company has done a lot over the years to cause its users to lose trust and this analytics gathering is definitely shady and likely a nail in the coffin for a lot of users.

Off topic a bit, but with YouTube channels testing battery life on the Note 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, a lot of them include a bunch of phone in their tests, and the OnePlus 5 surprisingly comes out towards the top most the time, for battery champion phone. I was shocked to see that.
