I am interested to see some picture samples. I might get the OPO5t...it looks like they improved the camera.

It really comes down to camera for me. I've liked what they do with their skin, or lack thereof, and the price is right for me. But I gotta have that good camera.

My thoughts too! I'm loving my Pixel 2 XL but would give it up for the 5T mainly because of the price. But that camera has to be much better than it was on the 5 and the time I had it.

Actually been looking at this phone over the pixel XL 2 for my sis.

I've never been too much into one plus but they seem to be bit more pocket book friendly and have some good features.

Is there a direct url to one plus? I don't think the phone is quite ready for sale yet?

Erm... Maybe not. Initial research looks to be a gsm only device. We are on Sprint.

It is too bad it still won't play nice on Verizon. I'd love to give it a test drive.

The camera is crap again according to some early reviews I've watched and read. It's especially terrible in low light situations. Try again next year?
I read some reviews saying the same thing.....its ok for the price but it can't match up to the Samsungs, Pixels or iphones.

It begs the question — why would OnePlus bother with this secondary camera at all if the main camera so often does a better job with low light photos? Some 90% of the shots you take with this phone will make no use of the secondary lens, turning it into this vestigial thing hanging around reminding you that its inclusion took away from potential improvements to the main camera. Yes, it enables a Portrait Mode — which doesn't seem to have improved since its introduction, and is worse than the Pixel 2 XL's — but I don't think that this software-based bokeh and what end up being relatively poor low-light shots are worth what we had to give up in the main camera. If the removal of those two features could free up resources to make any improvement in photos from the main camera thanks to a larger sensor or OIS, it'd be immediately worth it.

Bah... Disappointing camera again? I guess as long as they're half price compared to the big hitters they can always make excuses for it.

Not sure the market will sustsin phones with mediocre cameras for much longer when there are 1-2 year old devices for less with better optics.

Google camera Pixel mod APK time?

I agree. Mr Mobile did have some fantastic shots and videos in his review though, but it's far from the latest flagships in their ability to "point and shoot" and get near flawless results each time.

I'm still tempted though. I love my Pixel 2 XL but always have a soft spot for Oxygen OS and OP hardware. I have twins due in January and a 2 yo daughter, so the importance of the camera is at the very top and not sure the OP5T would cut it.

Why so much hate for the camera? OP5 camera is pretty good most of the time. Can it compete with samsung, lg, apple and htc? Nope. But not far away imho.

And google camera software can be easily installed, and that brings some points to camera as well.

What I do hate is OP and their privacy policy. They are changing it now of course. But just to know that they have been spying on me for so long... Uhh.. I would love to buy this phone. I'm still considering it. But just because of privacy I will probably skip it.

Having kids has driven my cellphone decision. Especially having twins. Here’s a pic of our girl twin with my iPhone X. I like the 5T but not sure I can lose a top shelf camera.

"Pretty good" is not good enough for a supposed flagship killer. Given one of the primary use cases among all smartphone users is taking photos, oneplus really should be giving a much higher priority to the camera and the camera software.

There are other issues too. No dust or water resistance. No wireless charging. The terrible single speaker. No expandable storage. Bad reputation for software updates. The appalling customer support.

I think oneplus is way overrated.

No dust or water resistance - I agree. Shameful for OP.
No wireless charging - True, but then again, at least you get a device that won't break if you look at it wrong. To me, that beats wireless charging any day.
Terrible single speaker - Simply not true. OP5 has a pretty good speaker. Way better then my Note 8 speaker is. If that is a terrible single speaker, than what should we call Note 8 speaker?

Expendable storage - I can agree here, but for some people (myself included), expendable storage isn't a big deal at all.
Bad reputation for software updates - well, OP3 and OP3T just got Oreo update. My Note 8 didn't receive any updates in more then 45 days of owning it. Not even one. But last years phones received Oreo updates. So if that is 'bad reputation' for updating devices, what shall we call Samsung? LG? HTC? Since none of their phones still received Oreo updates.

Appalling customer support - I had one experience with them. And it went great. I guess you have some bad experiences? Or just talking random? ;)

cute kiddo! I agree, it's a major driver. I have the Pixel 2 XL which takes phenomenal photos but just got the iPhone X yesterday, so I'm going to give it a try too. I did order a 5T yesterday as well to test drive to see how it can handle the photo situation but I imagine i'll be deciding between the Pixel or the X.

Thanks!! And yeah. I have it narrowed to the X, Pixel, or HTC U11. I have to have a quick and good camera for all my kids. My only issue with the X is the price. It’s otherwise fantastic.
