I'm very curious to see what the next OnePlus device will be. Depending on things and costs I might just make op my tinkertoy and start skipping the pixel line

For a daily driver I'm not sure on, maybe stick with Sammy o_O

Not sure that we'll ever see a OP phone that works on CDMA if they've haven't made one by now.
Yep...they are GSM only. Not gonna work on Sprint or Verizon
[doublepost=1534305255][/doublepost]If they can make this......with wireless charging and a better camera.....i would get this over any other Android phone

It makes sense from their standpoint really, with pretty much the entire world being GSM except for VZW and Sprint. No need for a small non-US company to invest in such a narrow market.

Makes total sense on their part. CDMA is a dying technology.

I mean, it's only used by the largest carrier in the US. That's basically a dead technology already!
They use GSM for 4G/LTE right.....moving to 5G which is GSM as fast as they can......Moving away from CDMA to newer technologies. Verizon and Sprint are the only carriers to use CDMA in the world. The rest of the world uses GSM......So by comparison...thats a small slice of the total

Even Verizon wants to move from CDMA
In June, Verizon introduced its first two LTE-only phones, the LG Exalt LTE and HTC U11. This is part of a move to an all-LTE system; Verizon says it wants to shut down CDMA by the end of 2019. Without CDMA, it's going to become easier for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon devices to be compatible in the future, but that still leaves Sprint out.

Completely agree. I just don’t understand why the us hasn’t moved on in terms of a few such things. Chip and pin adoption is another.

Just because a big network in a specific country don’t want to invest in newer technologies, doesn’t mean the rest of the world hasn’t moved on. Hardly anywhere else throughout the world CDMA is being used at present.

Hopefully by next April will find out if T mobile and Sprint merger work out. And all the GSM phones will work with T mobile. That will be only 3 big ones, Att, verizon and t mobile.

If this is the OnePlus 6T, it will be my next upgrade from my current Pixel 2 XL.

Google the mega billion dollar company, can't even make their Pixel 3XL this cool, WTF ? Instead we get the gigantic notch and chin, and just a huge phone that looks ugly, and compare it this Oppo beauty.

This is like the v-neck of notches. Passable for a notch and not as ugly as iPhone X's big wide ugly notch. Still hoping for in-display sensors with no notch and minimal bezels.

For me, it'll come down to a few things with regards to the 6T:

1) Wireless charging
2) At least IP67 waterproofing, if not, IP68
3) Camera -- will the camera finally join the premium rank amongst the Pixel, Samsung, and iPhone X? I know it's getting there, but I want it to be there.

I don't mind price increases to hit these marks because if it can, it'll still be priced better than say a Pixel 3 XL, will easily look better (refer to the Pixel 3 thread), and will actually run software that appears to be faster, can hold more apps open, and can offer a few unique additional features (like true dark mode and better gestures, to name a few).

And they're promising 2 years of quick software updates and support.

OnePlus is poised to really challenge the Pixel line.

Any place but here or there....
Very nice. If the next OP phone looks like that, it might be a possibility. The Essential phone was the only Android phone I liked looks-wise, so it is nice to see other OEMs rethinking the notch amongst other things.
