So far you've mentioned AMOLEDs having a "common problem" but only posted some pictures and links to XDA threads (the contents of which are quite different). Can you please clarify what this "common problem" exactly is?

Yes, I do. Coincidentally, both the OnePlus One and iPhone 6 have an LTPS IPS display. The type of panel is probably not the only contributing factor to display quality though, so there can be low and high quality panels of the same type (as demonstrated by the OPO vs. iPhone 6).

Read the threads on the xda and you get a better idea. All of your questions are answered

I agree with on this

I read through those threads and you're right about answering those questions. Those "problems" aren't problems at all and are inherent properties of AMOLED display technology. Those who see it as a problem are ignoring the many advantages you get with AMOLED displays.

If you come across a Note 4 that has tint that is extremely prominent and impacts how you view your devices, you have the right to do an exchange or return. However, if the tint is minimal and doesn't appear in all situations when you use your phone, consider that normal, because pretty soon Samsung is going to say the same, not taking sides here, that's just the truth since we're dealing with organic displays. At least we're not speaking about bleeding issues found with conventional LCD IPS Displays.

Note: You have to adjust the grayscale settings in Supercurio's app (Not Black, Not White) to really appreciate what the minority sees.
The AMOLED anomalies are more apparent in low brightness, dark-room settings, and again these anomalies have no impact on the way the devices is perceived by the majority, because these are just trade-offs when buying any device with an AMOLED panel in general.
In other words, just live it unless you have display which displays extremely high tint.

Funny to note, the ease of Burning-in seem to have been virtually eliminated in Samsung's latest iteration of their AMOLED displays thanks to Samsung's software implementation of literally turning off individual pixels (not true pixels but the transistors which power these individual pixels) when black colors are displayed. Don't confuse this with stores that have display models which are constantly left on with a static image at the highest brightness level setting, that part is a normal process attributed by constant on-screen times.

Remember, AMOLED is constantly improving one iteration after another. If you're in the market for buying a phone or any electronic with an AMOLED display, make sure you buy from Samsung and not from some other phone maker like Motorola, because manufacturers other than Samsung tend to use older AMOLED display technology.

The latest cyanogen cm12s has some bugs. My phone have rebooted twice without no reason, and after rebooting i can start using my phone until 20 seconds later it askes me to give the password for the simlock (i havent tried, but i think the calling doesnt work until this either) - of course i cannot bypass the lockscreen lock. It isnt annoying because you rarely reboot your phone, but it is a bug that needs to be fixed asap.

They (google) removed silent -option from settings. Ehm? Wtf!? It is probably coming back in the next update to cm12s. But wtf no silent mode amd cyanogen didnt put it here either!? There is an option "none" but then you dont get alarms either.

There is some stupid option on the lockscreen. You can turn off wifi/data from the quicksettings panel without a password.

Otherwise im quite happy with it. Couple bugs and missing silent mode need to be fixed and then it is perfect again.

You will have to wait until the 5.1 release to get silent mode back I think, which would make it CM12.1S (?).

Wait, are you talking about COS12 or CM12?

It should be delivered today and for the price paid there is no other "very good" smartphone I could have bought pre owned comparable.

I'm looking forward to messing around with it, it has the latest software installed. Fun! :)

Well the seller did not do a factory reset on the device and there is a pin/passcode to unlock the screen.

I think I can do a hard reset to get me past that but there may be different procedures for each different manufacturer to do it.

Can someone here walk me through it for the Oneplus One, PLEASE. Thanks! :)

Edit: Never mind, YouTube is your friend. Time to play with yet another smartphone. :)

The One still a GREAT phone almost two years later; ( my opinion )

I'll make this short, I got the OPO back in late Summer 2014, after replacing my damaged HTC One M8 ( which I LOVED, and converted to GPE ) The Kit Kat ROM's were awesome on the OPO, giving me like crazy 7h Screen On time, I liked the shape and design of the phone, it sort of seemed like a Nexus 5-1/2, the Nexus phone Google would have made after the Nexus 5, if they didn't go Motorola. The OPO has a sort of Galaxy Nexus + Nexus 5 combo design going on, in a good way.

Yeah I hate OPO's invite system, and all the BS within the company, and to be honest the OnePlus Two does ZERO for me, I have no interest in that phone whatsoever. Seems like a side grade at best to the OPO. Plus not a fan of the SD810, so put me down as a OnePlus Two hater

Since I bought the OPO I have had the iPhone 6 Plus ( Jailbreaked, just to try out a big iPhone and the JB scene, but iOS blows IMO, ran back to Android less than a month later ) Then I bought the Nexus 6 which I liked a lot, especially stock Android and AOSP ROM's, but the Nexus 6 was really crossing that border for me size wise, just too wide. And now I currently have the Note 5, running a good custom ROM. The Note 5 surprised me, as I typically don't like Touchwiz, but with a good ROM, it really is fast and smooth, and of course the screen and camera are #1.

My point here is, I still kept my OnePlus One as a back up phone, but for a long while was left in a drawer for months, so I dusted it off, and installed Sultan's CM13 ROM, and holy ****, I forgot how much I liked this phone, and the stockish vanilla Android type OS of CM13 vs. Touchwiz is so nice. I am SIM swapping between my OPO and Note 5 every few days, I really like the OPO still, even compared to my Note 5. Yes of course the Note 5 is a better phone no doubt. But here's something special about this OPO, like the old EVO 4G thanks to XDA that lived on a very long time, this OPO is one of those few special phones, with the help of the great development community will live a long life. Plus the hardware is still pretty fast in the OPO, it's not like a slow turtle or something.

I hated the OnePlus Two, but the One X really surprised, looks like a great phone. I am very optimistic on the OnePlus Three now, if they can design it sort of after the One X, similar build quality and design, but with the SD820 + 4GB RAM, with a 5.5" screen, and keep the price around the $400 range or so, it could be another killer phone.

Agree with all your points. I still have the OPO and I use it from time to time. I don't like two things however:
1) Lack of software support from OPO: In hindsight, this was expected cause OP is a small company despite their tall claims.

2) The camera sucks so bad. Again, I think it is their software that needs work cause on paper, they have a Sony camera module on the OPO.

I would have opted for a different one if the camera on this smartphone was a priority. But they are all even to me because I really do not use that feature much at all. And I never really bought any cameras through the years for snaps other than a cheap point and shoot. I do not even no where it is if I wanted to use it again and it is 35mm. :)

Oneplus doesn't do software support for the OPO. The CyanogenOS folks do. The latest COS update is **** though because it adds Microsoft Cortana and suggests MS apps etc. Instead of installing it I put in Sultan's CM13 ROM. Works pretty smoothly!

Haven't had any major issues with the camera. It's acceptable IMO.

OnePlus did say that they will update OPO with Oxygen 2.0 but the has not happened. And I thought Cyanogen's support was anyways on a timer cause of licensing issues with OnePlus. Oxygen seemed to be the better bet cause one would think OP could support a device they released a year ago. That has not happened and with that, all the invite mails I get from OP regarding OnePlus 2/X get trashed...not even forwarded to friends and relatives like last time cause I just don't recommend the company anymore. I keep getting the invites even after I have unsubscribed multiple number of times.

Not that other OEMs are doing better than OP, but I had such high expectations from OP regarding their software updates.

I wouldn't want OxygenOS in the first place. It lacks so many features and customization compared to CyanogenOS. I have both the OPO and Oneplus X and I find the OxygenOS much more limiting.
