Seriously Apple could learn from this. Sick specs which can compete with the iPhone 6S for only €269. Going to order one for sure. Just because of the amoled screen!

I just got an invite !!!! seriously .... I went to reservation list. Put in my email and got a congratulations message and invite came into my inbox. Same thing happened with my OnePlus2 invite when I did the same.

Maybe they have me / my email address & one plus account flagged or something. I'll order one next Friday :D :D

Of course Apple can learn from this. Their profit margins are ridiculous. They made 11 billion dollars profit in 3 months. They make hand-over-fist profit margins with their iPhones.

But they're not gonna. It's not new news that companies can sell nice quality phones with great specs at a very reasonable price, but you'd bet that they wouldn't if they don't have to (like Apple). These guys are only selling it so cheap in order to get some market share, otherwise there's no other reason to buy these phones over other Androids.

This looks fantastic. It's been a long time since anything has come this close to Galaxy S4 dimensions in the 5" format. Otherwise it's basically Oneplus One in a smaller size with an iPhone 5 inspired design. To be honest this is what I would've liked Apple to do with the iPhone 6.

I wouldn't mind seeing a premium version of this with a fingerprint reader and OIS. That would be my ideal Android phone.

Just for folks info . Important parts highlighted.

How long will I have to wait until my OnePlus X reaches me?

After you purchase your OnePlus X with an invite, it may take up to 3 weeks before it is ready to ship. Trust us, it’s worth the wait, but if you change your mind and wish to cancel your order, you can do that in your Account before your order goes under “Processing” status. We’ll help cancel and refund your order.

How long are invites valid?

Invites are typically valid for 24 hours, and you’ll see how much time you have left to use one once you’ve claimed it. For invites to share, you typically have 1 week to send them to friends and family.

How many invites can I share?

In the beginning, the quantities will be smaller, but they will increase as time goes by. You will frequently receive new invites to give away as the production ramps up. The more you share, the more invites to share you get.

When do I receive invites to share?

When you purchase your own OnePlus X, you do not receive invites to share right away, but you will receive them. We manually roll out invites to share based on stock levels.

My invite expired, can I have a new one?

When an invite expires, the corresponding OnePlus X is allocated to someone else waiting for an invite. Unfortunately, we cannot reissue invites every time one expires. To ensure you are seeing all emails from OnePlus, make sure emails from oneplus.net don’t end up in your spam or hidden under the Promotions tab by adding it to your contacts.

When will I be able to get the OnePlus X without an invite?

We will be keeping the invitation system for the foreseeable future. In order to get a OnePlus X, you will need to be invited by another OnePlus device owner or by participating in our contests and promotions. Follow us for the most up-to-date information.

Not just Apple, Samsung and a few others as well. I will never pay the ridiculous prices for a new flagship that Apple/Samsung ect charges, simply not worth it

Definitely trying one out. This looks pretty close to my ideal Android device in terms of size and build with a light skin and dual SIM option.

Will no doubt take ages for an invite despite me buying two OPOs and three OP2s and a ton of accessories for family and friends.

Oh my! This is a SOLID device for $249! I've seen videos and every hands-on, and just about everyone loved it. Damn you! I wanted to get the HTC A9, but hey, for $150 less, I'll just get the OnePlus X. I am not in a hurry to get it as I have my 6P, so waiting on an invite is fine with me. I must say, OnePlus nailed it for that price.

Edit: Just canceled my HTC A9 order. I'll be getting this one instead.

Gotta admit, this One X looks very nice, great design, looks like a nice build quality. AMOLED screen is a huge plus. And medium specs, but then again it's only $250, and you really can't buy a brand new smartphone off contract for much less anyways.

But I am so turned off by this company. Their BS " Invite " system is stupid and lame, and their whole companies attitude, that their **** don't stink, etc... makes me not want to do business with them.

I owned the original OnePlus One, and at the time, Summer 2014, for $350, it truly was an awesome phone, and outstanding deal, and running KitKat ROM's, it was a beast of a phone, with incredible battery life, but then the Lollipop update killed the phone IMO, performance down,a nd battery life was less than Kit Kat.

And the OnePlus Two, really was a $350 budget phone. The OnePlus Two does nothing for me, I wouldn't buy it for $99. Where as the OnePlus One was so great for it's time, the OnePlus Two not at all.

But I will say this One X looks really good, and maybe the OnePlus Three can follow it's design with a SD820 in the Spring ? But please for the love of God, get rid of the invites. Just get some investors to back you, and sell these like regular.

This new One X is basically the same size as the regular sized 4.7" iPhone 6S, but the One X has a bigger 5" screen, and is even thinner, with a larger battery than the 6S. The build quality with the new One X follows the iPhone 4S style of design. Flat back, and high end design.

For $249, an easy one handed small phone, high quality build, nice AMOLED display, and running a Nexus type OS, with pretty decent spec's. Hard to fault this phone.

I think this device is going to have a detrimental affect on htc, Motorola and Sony's bottom line this quarter.

Don't think it will have any affect on apple though.

Even with expandable storage and cloud storage, 16GB as a base storage is just UGH. :( But, I still might consider it as a back up device. I do want to try Oxygen OS.

14GB of apps storage is plenty enough. You could put anything else on the sdcard.

It's crazy to me that the bold is true, but the same goes for the 6P vs the 6+.

I applaud OnePlus for this effort, it's just too bad the OnePlus 2 isn't better.
