LMAO

This "Apple memo" that appeared mysteriously on Fake Steve Jobs' site plans an all-out iPhone attack on AT&T's network this Friday, December 18 at noon Pacific:

"Subject: Operation Chokehold
On Friday, December 18, at noon Pacific time, we will attempt to overwhelm the AT&T data network and bring it to its knees. The goal is to have every iPhone user (or as many as we can) turn on a data intensive app and run that app for one solid hour. Send the message to AT&T that we are sick of their substandard network and sick of their abusive comments. The idea is we'll create a digital flash mob. We're calling it in Operation Chokehold. Join us and speak truth to power!
You could join this flashmob to bring AT&T "to its knees," but from what I can tell, it's already there. [Fake Steve]"

Yeah, let's all cut off our noses to spite our faces. This Friday, pass the word. :D

I hope any ******* who wants to do this does it at a time when I am out of cell range and without care or worry because we all know that AT&T will get the point instead of deciding to limit the data network even more. Yeah this is a real good idea.

Apple Executive: Let's make it so we bring down the whole AT&T network. Then none of the iPhones will work in the U.S.
Steve Jobs: WTF?
Apple Executive: It'll be cool. We can stick it to AT&T.
Steve Jobs: WTF?!!!
Apple Executive: Yeah, we can finally show everyone that Verizon should get our phone.
Steve Jobs: WTF??!!! Verizon didn't want the iPhone.
[sends for goons to take out Apple Executive]

Seriously? Stuff like this is why AT&T wants to limit data in the first place. And lets not forget that this won't hurt AT&T one bit, it will just hurt anyone that legitimately might need to use their phone during that time.

What about the great majority of iPhone users who have no problem with AT&T. Once again, the minority trying to have a majority voice.

this is like the crap on facebook where people stick in the message box that facebook is closing down, blah, blah.

Really can't believe the dumb people who listen to it.

JOIN THIS GROUP TO LOWER GAS PRICES LOLOL

It must be a joke because everyone knows you can't run a data intensive app on your iPhone for an hour straight without the battery dying.

lol, quite true. one time i tried to update tomtom OTA just for fun.

Huh? OTA on wifi.

Well that would be counter intuitive to this thread regarding using the 3G network.

------

Also this "memo" is suggesting every DDoS the network; that's just great. Everyone commit a felony.

I will be participating using Pandora, possibly a video streaming App (Qik/Ustream).

So you don't care that if you guys do bring the network down people who might actually need to use their phones might not be able to? You're just hurting users, not AT&T.

I seriously doubt very many people are going to do this... maybe 20 from this thread and maybe 20 or so from other websites... even if it was a few hundred it's not going to cause a problem...

I guarantee my other friends who have iPhones have not even heard of this movement.

Well, this is already being talked about on Facebook, Twitter and several tech sites (Gizmodo, Mashable, Cult Of Mac, 9 to 5 Mac...)

The thing is if a lot of people do this it's going to hurt the users who just want to use their phones and if not many people do this then what's the point anyway?

Let's start a "turn your iPhone off at 12 noon Pacific the 18th" movement then.

That'll show these b*******.

I sure as hell hope no one is dying or trapped inside a burning building and can't dial 911 from their cell phone because a bunch of self-entitled smug little jerks are tying up the network with this stupid little protest.
