Hmmm. I have a Note 8, I’ve had it since launch. There is zero lag, none at all, it’s as smooth now as the day I bought it, really is a fantastic device. I also have an iPhone X, which is my personal device (the Note is for work), again, it’s a brilliant phone and I have no complaints.
Don't even bother arguing with him he has zero idea.

Not even opinion, the S9 is objectively better then the X in many ways. Oh and Displaymate rated the S9 screen higher then the X, so do your research. ;)
Except iOS is more secure, maybe not Samsung but Android is a pure product of surveillance caplitalism (Google), Apple supports phones for much longer with OS upgrades than any Android OEM etc.

Had no lag on my s7 nor the s8. Both great phones and im sure the s9 is even better. Still got the iphone 8 fot its lcd display which is easier on my eyes.

I did wana switch to the s9 even though my eyes would suffer, untill i saw my brother in laws s8 yesterday.. burn in like a mofo. So for me no oled displays.

I had one sold it. Ugliest tommy tall phone I have ever had, made $200 flipping it though :)
Had the usual stutter/lag straight out of the box.
Whaaaat? My Note 8 has zero lag or stutter. Literally zero. My old 6 Plus did though, and my 6S Plus to a lesser extent.

If y’all look at the actual results they are darn near exactly the same. The iPhone X has True Tone and automatic color management, as well as much higher manual brightness which is a big deal to me as I hate automatic brightness. I’ll take automatic color management anyday!
Look at refresh rates too. The X refreshes super low and that is the reason many people get eye strain when using it. The Note 8 refreshes higher than any other OLED flagship of late and that's one of the primary reasons I got mine.

I think you’re thinking of PWM to control screen brightness. Both AMOLED panels refresh at 60Hz but use PWM to control brightness. It should be the same as far as eye strain, if not better on the iPhone with True Tone and Night Shift.

I read up on it months ago and the X refresh is around 50hz but the Note 8 is something like 250hz.
[doublepost=1529345923][/doublepost]Seems to me that the Note 8 flickers less?

Can't agree here. My S7 Edge was a lag fest at the end of it's life. Extremely bad and laggy. I even reset it multiple times. Battery health was down to 70% as well. My Note 8 was awesome and so is my S9+.

I have no idea how you used your S7 but my S6 with heavy usage for 2 years has no lag and is still as fast as my Note 8 only it's battery went from bad to awful. No resets needed. Same with my S5 too.

Sadly, the S7 was known to be bad after a year or so. It's all over the s7 forum. It was my work phone, so it was only used for email, calls, and DUO for VPN with my laptop. I used my personal phone for all the apps, etc.

Many other topics about it on google search. AndroidCentral had like 50 pages worth of a topic on it at one point.

Curve is beautiful. No side bezel unlike the X thick side bezel+frame

Umm what? The X has no bezel. The S9+ has a curved screen which is in the way half the time, and it's curved sides are about the same.

Then why bother buying devices with nice screens if you're not going to utilize them?

I watched a about three hours of the LeMans 24 Hour on my phone over the weekend as there was no other option, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it too.

I've watched entire F1 races too.

There's no need to be a child about it.
The best screen is always the one that’s available to you. A lot of the time its our phones that we have on us. I probably wouldn’t watch a movie on there but TV shows and YouTube videos absolutely. So we need to have the best screens possible.
