Hermes includes an orange sport band with the purchase of a Hermes Apple Watch. Apple discontinued their orange band at these time. Looks like that is the reason. They didn't want a $ 49 Apple band competing with the Hermes band. The Hermes shade of Orange looks spectacular when the watch face has matching orange dials. Not being available separately adds exclusitivity.
Other fact. My wife got the $ 1499 Hermes with the double buckle. For those that suggested it makes more sense to add a Hermes band to an Apple Watch, consider this.

Get one free with any Hermes watch. Ordered the Hermes Double Cuff watch from Apple. Didn't realize the orange band was included. The band color matches the digital orange dials on the watch face. Makes it so sharp, my wife is using the orange sport band full time, instead of the expensive double cuff that she wanted.
Makes for a great anniversary gift.
May seem extravagant, but what would a nice piece of jewelry cost? We are talking a special occasion gift. Unlike jewelry, worn occasionally, the Watch is used and enjoyed daily. Three year warranty with AppleCare.
My gripe. For $ 1500, you get basic brown. You want a different color, it's another $ 700 for a double cuff in one of their colors. If I had been thinking clearly, I would have ordered the Watch with the less expensive single tour, and put the double cuff on hold for another occasion. 50th anniversary gift.

Considering what are spending for the mismatch, for a few hundred dollar savings, you lose the enjoyment of having the real thing. The three year warranty is nice. There are a number of sharp Hermes faces included. Her gold/stainless Rolex is in mothballs, and the Hermes is worn daily.

I think Hermes watches come with orange bands as well
I know the seller has completely sold his stock of orange bands on Ebay. I did a search for Walmart and Newegg and I am not getting any results. The seller may have placed the item on all three websites to sell his inventory.
Currently on eBay, there is a seller that has listed an OEM 42MM band in orange, new in box. Current bid is at $20, with a week remaining.
