I ordered my iPad this past Sunday, May 9. It's now day 5, and still stuck on "not yet shipped." Is this pretty much standard? My delivery estimate hasn't changed, so I'm assuming they'd have to get it out the door soon.

At least for me and I assume a lot more Applle iPad owners, Apple said it'll take between 5-7 days to ship. Well it exactly 7 days before mine shipped. So you got 2 more days.

I'm in the same boat - ordering early AM on May 6, Not yet shipped is the current status. Hopefully we shall move into Prepared for Shipment during the weekend and shipping on Mon/Tues...

It's 5 - 7 business days, not 5 - 7 days, before shipement. Mine shipped 7 business days almost to the minute from when I ordered. That seems to be the case for most on these boards.

Be happy you ordered when you did, as not it is 7 - 10 business days before shipment.

take it easy, ipads are normally shipping the 7th day, then you still have to wait 3 to 5 days, you will go crazy when yo see your ipad stuck in Anchorage or Lantau for more than 24 hours but finally you will get it good luck

If you want an iPad fast here's what you do....

I waited 7 days from Apple and my iPad still had not shipped. I went to Macmall.com and called their 1-800 # and they had tons of iPads in stock. It was shipped for free and I was not charged tax. I then logged in and canceled my apple order. To be honest, I was a little disappointed that Macmall could supply them but Apple could not. The other advantage was that I saved $40 in tax. Hope this helps.

I ordered one on the 9th as well, and I just noticed this morning that my card was charged yesterday for it. Was yours as well? Since Apple's order status is down until tomorrow for some reason, I can't see if mine's actually shipped yet, but at least I know it's getting ready to. :)

Ordered on May 9 too, but with Apple Order status down since yesterday, no idea what's going on. We should have things clearer by tomorrow, am hoping in at least a "Prepared for Shipment"...

just got off the phone with CS and they told me my may 9th order will be shipped tuesday/wednesday but will still be within the 18th/22nd delivery date. hope this helps...

Status checker is back online over at Apple website, but no change for me - still "Not yet Shipped". Here's to hoping that it will indeed ship at the 7th business day from May 9, ie. this coming Tuesday...

I just ordered today, sounds like I have a long wait ahead of me. :(

Yep, you and me both. My order was placed on Saturday, and I just checked: iPad will ship on May 28th, with a Jun 2nd delivery. I won't get my Apple case until June 17th.

I think that I am off to a retail store to get on a waiting list. What happened to ships in 7-10 business days?

It's business days
So last Friday would be day 5
Mine shipped on the 7th day just be patient young one

I have ordered mine (16GB 3G) on May 8th and received yesterday a shipping confirmation with May 20th as arrival date.
So my waiting time was 5 days. :D

Ordered a second iPad for my wife (I told her she was going to want one after spending some time with mine) yesterday, May 15, and the shipping date says June 1 (no range) with a delivery date of June 4 (again no range).

This is the first time since launch that I have seen or heard of a specific date of shipping and delivery as opposed to a range.

Anyone else having a similar experience?

Check the "ships by May 7" thread. There's a lot of info there, with posted tracking info from FedEx.

It's 7-10 business days to ship + delivery days (3-5?) as per apple.com order page.
I ordered my 32 3g May14, ships May28, deliver June2.
My 'free' case comes June 27. They screwed up my order and it was a lot of hassle so I asked for a free case.

I called Macmall numerous times and are always told out of stock, 'expected' next week.

Ordered ours (64/3G) on 3 May. No updates for 8 days, then 2 days clearing customs, shipped to US (Anchorage), then oakland, now departed oakland. Shows delivery tomorrow.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda - if we ordered 1 day earlier, I'd have had it the whole weekend to mess around with...

I ordered my 16GB wifi version on Thursday. Ships 28th, and comes in on the 2nd of June. Sucks to have to wait so freaking long.

I've had a recurring dream for a while now, that I'm going to a repair shop to pick up my car. Every time I go, and every time they have a new excuse as to why it's not ready yet. Sometimes I have to wait around to find out, sometimes they tell me right away. Most recently I knew it wasn't ready because I couldn't see it in their lot with all the other cars. I think they must be waiting on a part on backorder or something, because I've been waiting on that car to get fixed since 2005.

Just a heads up for the may 9th guys... got an email @ 4:59am stating my ipad has shipped from China and is in transit in Lantau, HK. My card hasn't been charged yet but I'm sure it will be first thing Monday.
