~$2,500. Not worth extracting because you can sell the complete watch for that much. There's probably less than $1,000 worth of gold in each watch.

The $17,000 gold model that they gave away to a few select celebrities and probably sold none of at retail.
Love the signature, I can relate.Oh they had some at retail. When they were running the Apple Watch Edition they had a special room in select Apple Stores that they took people into the back to have a fitting done. The only reason this watch even exists was to catch the attention of Rolex wearers, and it worked as the Apple Watch now outsells the entire Swiss Watch industry now

I love taking an intended insult and rolling with it. Makes it all the better! The signature has lore behind it. I was playing Dead by Daylight one night and completely crushed the survivor team. One of the survivors was not taking the loss well and started scrubquoting in the end game chat, where he said I had "no skill" and the "iq of a cheez-it"

I mean they haven't offered cash value for Series 0 watches since like 2018, but I get your point.Filthy Rich Person with Gold Apple Watch goes on Apple site to see what trade in value is for their watch….
Apple: Looks like it is time to recycle your watch. Click here to send it to us and we will recycle it for free. Isn’t that nice of us?
Yep, pretty much. In another 30 years, some joker will auction one of these off for $250K...
A sealed launch Series 0 won't pair to an iPhone 15 on iOS 17. You'd need to send it to Apple to be updated in order to use it with a modern iPhone. If you'd invested $17,000 at 7.1% when this watch came out, it would be worth $250k in another 30 years. Not a horrible rate of return, but not worth the gamble that someone would pay the $250k either.
Was never supposed to be, but people are now buying tech watches over traditional watches. My brother used to collect mechanical watches, for example, but just recently sold a lot of them off and now wears his Apple Watch most days. That's the real damage. It never was a luxury piece of jewellery.
Sealed or unsealed?Yep, pretty much. In another 30 years, some joker will auction one of these off for $250K...
Don't think Apple ever offered it on refurb, but I remember hearing of stores in Japan selling off stock when they reached end of their retail lifespan for only a few thousand USD.Did anybody buy the gold Apple Watch for 17k from the refurb store? You'd save over 2500 bucks if you did.
Ah yes, but apple managed to play funny buggers with the definition of 18K to include less gold in its 18K gold.Welp, at least you can still sell the gold parts for scrap money!
I clearly remember several posts from some rich folks (I think from China if I recall correctly) who bought several of these. One for his dog.The $17,000 gold model that they gave away to a few select celebrities and probably sold none of at retail.
or something higher end, like Patek PhilipeI guess a Rolex is a better investment.
Curious what the trade-in/ refurb value of that gold watch is?Well, AW is a piece of technology, a tool, not a piece of jewelry …
It's too bad AW "Series 0" Edition cannot be retrofit with newer AW components, not even AW Series 3.
One of my friends (works for Apple) gave his wife a Gold Edition with employee discount. It does look more "yellow gold" than stainless gold, but it is not even eligible for battery replacement service, making it largely useless.
Wow….lol just wow.A sealed launch Series 0 won't pair to an iPhone 15 on iOS 17. You'd need to send it to Apple to be updated in order to use it with a modern iPhone.
Oh wait, they don't service them anymore.
I doubt very much that will happen. Watch collectors love mechanical watches because they will work forever if maintained or repaired. Electronic watches will be nothing but paperweights after a few years. Also, even broken, a mechanical watch is accurate twice a day😆People scoff at such an expensive watch being obsolete already, but given the profile of the purchasers, and its relative low sales, it will earn a pretty penny at online auction within a couple of decades. This is basically the 20th Anniversary Mac of the Apple Watch series.
