I hate being obsessed with detail. I'd use cDock permanently if it had rounded edges. Do you know of a way to round them off? Also, why not run a script that just launches cDock? It changes the dock and makes it glass transparent. Idk I'm thinking out loud. Let's face it, at this point, everything on these old macs are from a very custom build of Yosemite.

That's actually not a bad idea. OS X Patcher is just made up of scripts so might as well recreate the cDock and run it after installation.
Actually never mind. These are the settings you need for a perfectly rounded, transparent dock that's the perfect color. Just switch the theme to custom, and enter these numbers;

I'm using SFOTT to install Yosemite on a late 2006 iMac5,1. The installer launches but when I try to install I get a message that Yosemite is already installed. How can I get around this?

One of the last posts mentioned that SFOTT may not make a successful installation since it is fairly outdated so I suggest you use the instructions on post1 or 2.

I have just enough interest in getting Yosemite to run on my iMac as it takes to use Sfott. Post 1 and 2 are a little too complex for me. thanx for the idea.
SFOTT works properly. I've installed Yosemite on my macbook 2,1 mid 2007 through it.
OSXE is compatible with OS X 10.10.3 which has just released today. Kexts will remain intact except for the 'other kexts' . Airdrop might have to be enabled.

GMA X3100 works fine with 144 MB of memory after kexts loaded.
the Macbook is not able to resume after stop...
Is there someone that can help me in solve this issue?

Hi there, Does the GMA X3100 run with full graphics acceleration? youtube videos/video files running smoothly without delays? If you have it running with full acceleration, could you please upload the graphics kexts somewhere??
My MB 3.1 seems to sleep & resume easily, though the screen/lid switch is not working.. only manual sleep works..
You have to download the OS X Extractor, you will find everything inside what you need.
I have x3100 as well (MacBook3,1), i think it is fairly smoothly running. Youtube is working as well (I use html5) and 720p is running smooth, but i think you have to turn off the annotations in the videos.
QE/CI is unfortunately not running, so that means, for example Sketchbook won't run on the computer because of the lack of QE/CI support. I think neither Photoshop and Illustrator, but I didn't have opportunity to install yet.

The reason I asked is there are way too many versions of the alleged 64bit graphics kexts for X3100.. all those are possibly modded versions of a beta from a 10.6.2 update.. If your X3100 card seems to playback smooth videos (even without QE/QI), could you please upload these 5 files from your Yosemite installation, please?

I've been trying all of OS X 10.8/10.9 & 10.10.. There are minor issues with each versions installed.. brightness controls don't work, or lid switch not enabled (doesn't sleep when screen closed), wifi issues, graphics not fully accelerated etc..
Would you know how to enable brightness buttons to actually change brightness on ML10.8.5 on MB3.1? ML native kexts seem to detect the +/- buttons, screen shows the 'sun' logo but actual screen brightness doesn't change at all..
So I understand that the OpenGL and OpenCL frameworks from lion won't work on yosemite. Will the ones from mountain lion that are used when you patch it using MLPF work?

I can confirm that changing the brightness is not possible yet, and when you closing the lid, it is never waking up, only if you restart.
This kext is partially working, so don't expect that everything will work. QE/CI is as i told not supported.

Hi,
Anybody managed to install the 10.10.3 update on our oldies ?
I tried both the regular update & combo update (downloaded directly from Apple servers) & the installation does not do anything, just asks to restart. Probably a Platformsupport check somewhere ?
How to circumvent that ?

i succerful updated to 10.10.3 with pike's script. Everything works nice, photo.app too

just install pike's script, reboot twice so it is installed, then download and install the combo update
