You can press ctrl-e to jump at the end of the textfield.
OMG! I had no idea this key combo was a thing! I've always wanted a button or key combo on my mac that would take me to the end of a sentence. On a Windows PC I would use the END key, this is genius!!! lol. Thank you!

You can use the End key on the Mac as well (provided you have a full-size keyboard). But it's still annoying. That text entry field should be nearly the full width of the dialog box, regardless of how small or large you have it sized.

Ctrl-E is a great workaround. Thanks for that.
But it's still very annoying that only a small portion of the filename is visible. I still have to scroll slowly with the arrow keys to read the whole filename.

File name field still too small.
To be honest, I didn't even notice the size of the entry box until the last week or so when I started noticing people complaining about it here in the forums. Now I'm noticing just how annoying it is. I regularly have to edit numbers at the end of existing file names and it's become a pain in the behind having to click in the box, hit the End button, then make a selection to change the numbers.
