i have forgotten why i preferred Fedex over UPS ...

UPS's system said my package was out for delivery with a 4pm to 8pm window. 8pm has come and gone and still no package .. now they are saying their system was wrong and i should be expecting it monday ... sigh ... sorry ladies and gents, no previews until Monday ... :(

I'm not wild about the flap thing either. I wonder if it would break in and fall back better with use?

It can be magnetically attached. I had the same doubts.

And thanks to this thread I went to the Apple Store to get mine :)

The coloring is okay and it feels stable. The iPad fits very good in it.

As I use the iPad mostly at home, I don’t think I will need another case :)

Thanks, need something sturdy for travelling so think I’ll take a punt.

Can you fold that flap back against the cover while iPP is in use? And if so, does the folded flap adhere magnetically?

Yes, you can. If you use the case front as a stand, the magnets could be stronger. If you use the iPP like a book, the flap connects to the front (which is folded to the back). Never tried to explain something like this in English

But you always see a bit of the flap...

Can you please share some pics showing the ipad in the case in different positions?

Thanks.

i love it!!! glad i bought it! it'll definitely protect your ipad (this is the 12.9 version by the way)

i feel much better putting my ipad in a bag without the fear of the sides getting scratched/damaged or the ipad bending ....

after playing with it for half an hour ...

thoughts ...

• its not as light of a gray as it looks in the pics. it looks more of a dark gray

In the last pic can you tuck the flap further down so it magnetically attaches to the back?

you can't because the clear back is not magnetic. that is the only instance where the flap is "exposed" but i am sure in time in will curve downwards more, it doesn't bother me and it will never have the tendency to flip forward

Looks good, thanks for sharing the pics! I get mine on Wednesday. Hoping it will help better protect the 12.9 when I’m traveling.

it definitely will. checking the apple store app looks like it is selling out. pick-up to my store is now dec 20 while shipping is now dec 12-19. glad we ordered it as soon as it was available

Picked up mine at the apple store today. Definitely best case so far for the new iPad Pro. The back is see thru and is a really hard plastic so it protects the back better than current offerings from amazon and apple. The stiffness also gives me piece of mind that the new iPad won’t bend if carried in my backpack during my daily commute. Highly recommend until something better comes out.

In case anyone is interested this case (in gray and black) is currently listed on the OtterBox website (not available for purchase yet, but you can add your email address so you can be notified when they go on sale). I’m hoping more colors will continue to be added!

I have an otterbox symmetry case on my iPad Pro 9.7. Its the slimmest sleekest high protection case I’ve found for any of the iPads I’ve owned. The case for my 12.9 arrives tomorrow and I’ll finally feel comfortable carrying my first 12.9 iPad around the house. Time to decide if I keep it or return for an 11.

I ordered within minutes after reading about the case here, which is why I’m getting it so quickly.

Glad to see it on Otterbox’s website now and having a black color option. But what makes no sense is the gray is $10 more on Otterbox.com and the black is magically $20 more. This is for the 11” model at least

Very happy with the case, great fit and quality, feels very sturdy, and doesn’t add a huge amount of weight.

Tempted to return the apple smart folio now but think I’ll keep it for a change now and again.

Glad to hear it - now, I’m really looking forward to getting mine tomorrow. As I’ve mentioned, I’m looking to this to be the case I use when I travel to give the iPad a bit more protection. On my previous Pro, I ran a keyboard case nearly all the time, but with he new 12.9, I’ve been playing around with an external keyboard and the Apple folio just be a bit more svelt. So, I’m hoping this new case will hit the sweetspot between svelt and protective!

How stable is the case in the position illustrated by your last picture? That’s the orientation my iPad resides in most of the time and I’m curious how this case holds up to screen taps and the like with the iPad more vertical.
