A wild guess. Too many wanting the 256GB model. Also, while I don't know for sure, I'm guessing "time of the order completed" has no baring. Due to a snafu, my order for the 64GB model was not completed until 12:30 PDT. I ordered on the ATT site as I was unable to get on the Apple site. The ATT site actually opened slightly before midnight and I quickly clicked on the model I wanted, then proceded to complete the order by clicking on the "upgrade" option where I immediately got a phone "not eligible" for upgrade. All this happened before 12:05 or thereabouts.

I thought I was done when a chat window popped up suggesting I buy the phone as an extra line @ $20 more per month. I wasn't hot for that option, but the chat guy said I could cancel the extra line after I got the new X. So I went with it and as I stated about, it was now 12:30. I figured I must have been way outside the Nov 3rd delivery, but after completing the order, I got a message saying I would get the phone on Nov 3rd.

The last few days I've been trying to track the order using the various UPS posts on this site to no avail. So I figured Nov 3rd was a fairy tale. Then this morning I got an email from FEDEX saying the phone was on the way and would arrive Nov 3rd as promised.

So, due to my problems ordering above, I'm guessing as soon as the ATT site let me on AND i selected the model I wanted, from that moment on, I was OFF the clock as that model was then reserved for me. Otherwise, why am I getting the phone tomorrow when I didn't complete the order until 12:30?

I've been getting really jealous over these IUP folks!
 
Whole lotta nothin’ going on...

For me I got that stupid “reservation” message at 3:12, after seeing November 3rd while I was placing the order. When I actually completed my order almost 12 hours later, it was 17-24. Very annoyed.

My exact situation nearly word for word. I got the reservation email at 3:11am EDT

Not all iup has priority. I’m still sitting at 17-24 no charge and no change to my date or order status. I do like the idea of a new thread for people who haven’t gotten shipments yet, but I guess I’m not welcome here because of how I chose to pay.

Silver 256GB AT&T Next program. Ordered at 12:06am through Apple website. Confirmation email is 12:11. The email states:

I called Apple today about not being bumped up already when I am seeing people that ordered after me either getting them tomorrow or Monday. She assured me that IUP DOES NOT get priority. Somehow I find that hard to believe. They are getting moved up while we are stuck at the 17th-24th date. I believe that the system puts you into different buckets depending on how the payment comes in and not in the priority the order was placed. If they would just be honest and let us know that.

No movement whatsoever. There was a $1 pending charge on my CC which got dropped yesterday.
 
Lol and they still think were blowing smoke... Avg order seems to have been placed around 3:10-15 am...

IUP priority is proving to be true more and more... except for @Dblandon

I ordered through Apple.com since nothing else was working. Took me over 10 min to get in. Got the unable to contact carrier error with a reservation number. (AT&T Next) I tried again and finally got my order completed at 2:13 am with an email from Apple at 2:17 am. Delivery of Nov 17-24. No change at all since I placed my order. Patiently waiting but slowly running out. LOL!

Sure. I ordered the silver 256GB AT&T model 13 minutes after the pre-orders started. Paid in full. My card was charged overnight. Status changed to order in progress with 11/17-11/24 window, but in my experience once the card is charged the status updates in a day or so. I’ll check again tomorrow to see if I get another status update, and hopefully a tracking number.
 
I just got a call from one of Mr. Cooks "assistants" as she put it, however, I am not dumb and know she is at least not one of his close assistants. The call was from Austin, TX just like many in this thread have received. Her actual title, from the email she sent me is "Apple Online Store Executive Relations." I did send Mr. Cook an email just telling him that they need to have their system/servers readied better for launches, AND more importantly have much stricter rules for the carriers for their systems/servers. I just reiterated that to her, and she told me she would relay the information to Mr. Cook and the engineers. She also said she "expects" but cannot guarantee that ship times should improve. So hey, it is good to know when you email a higher up at Apple, this being the CEO, someone from executive relations will get back to you unlike most other companies. Anyway, just wanted to report that.

Still no charge on CC, or ship time bump. Glad for all the people that are seeing a bump or charge on their CC!

@SRLMJ23 Pretty much went through the same thing. Only I didn't contact Tim Cook or any executive for that matter. Just called the good'ol 1-800-MY APPLE number.. finally someone called me back from the same location same title, and all I could do was give them constructive feedback as you did.

Could not get through to Sprint so Apple reserved the phone for later.
Completed and payed in full phone around 5pm October 27th.

Original date Nov 17 - 24, updated today to Nov 6th.

I guess im the minority here.

PIF, via app - got the “couldn’t reach carrier” screen around 2:12 CST, but didn’t get the reservation confirmation until 4:41, with a delivery range of 11/17-24. No movement since (shipping, CC charges). Before the carrier server issue I was on track to pick up at the local Apple store tomorrow.
 
Based on all the orders I’ve seen on the forums it seems like most people went with 256gb. Why even offer 64gb at this point?
