Paper Toss, one of my favorite apps, just got an update. It added a new "airport" level, and... ads.

I realize ads pay for free apps, but there is something funky about an app that didn't have ads, and then an "update" that adds them afterwards without saying anything in the update notes. Is it me or am I being paranoid?

Paper Toss: World Tour is a new paid app which I presume has no ads. The ads do really take away from this otherwise EXCELLENT app.

Suggestion: Please sell the plain old app without ads. I really think the world tour concept is dumb, and I prefer my office environment addless.

I deleted the app from the iPhone and restored it from my computer which doesnt have ads, but now the AppStore update keeps nagging me to update it...

I hate ad apps. I'm even thinking about purchasing Weather Channel Max for the ad-free plus live radar. Also I wish Tune Wiki could come in a paid version for no ads. That app is awesome!

The jailbraking community is forcing us to add ads on our apps in order to get some money.

Stop bitching about the jailbreaking community. Some people jailbreak just to add stuff Apple won't allow, not to steal apps.

I grabbed the update, then I noticed the ads, then I deleted it. It wasn't an important app by any means.

I love the game/app and I don't mind the ads...however if they offer a paid version of the office environment game, I'd throw down for that... (don't like the "World" version).

I had the same experience as the OP. Updated, saw the new airport option, then saw the ads at the bottom.

My question, is there anyway to lose the ads, like a paid version? I'd pay $0.99 for the app just to get rid of the ads. Otherwise, I'll delete it too.

I think they make more money off of ads in popular apps than they would selling it for 99 cents a pop.

Does anyone have a screen shot showing the ad placement? This will be the deciding factor whether I upgrade or not.

I removed Paper Toss last week anyway. Got bored of it.

Saying that, I have very few applications on my phone as it is.

None have ads though.

Here ya go:

I think the ad placement would be better on top.

My kids play this game and I know they're gonna hit the ad by mistake, because it's so close to where you touch to flick the paper.

From an advertiser perspective, I've wasted a ton on such ads. And this just reinforces how easy it is for people to click on something they have no intent to buy.

the ad shifts top/bottom. Bottom on the start/setting screen and top during gameplay

I love the game but would gladly pay the $1.05 to rid the ads.

World Paper toss is good but to me the speed to flight path is not consistent throughout the game.

The airport level is good but not worth having ads.

Good to know (the ads are at the top)... it would really interfere w/ gameplay otherwise. The new scenes look good. I'll upgrade and probably buy it. I don't want my kids hitting ads by mistake.
