Have installed but can't find a guest OS image that is compatible - have tried ubuntu server for ARM but it doesn't accept it, along with a few others.

And within 10 minutes Windows 10 is running smoothly with resolution 3360 x 2100 on the MacBook Pro.

This will not run Intel OSes.

No Intel support, only ARM based operating systems, at least for now. We will have to see what the future holds.

Whats the point if it can run Windows? Doesnt seems to run other OS either....
Its even says Install Windows or another OS.

• Ubuntu 20.10 Desktop
• Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop
• Ubuntu 20.04 Server (with ARM support)
• Debian - ARM64 ISO

None of which are accepted by the installer.

Will it do VHDX files?

Download Windows Insider Preview ARM64 (microsoft.com)

Edit: ^ Posted that before reading the details in the technical preview. It will work with VHDX files. ?

Done using the Windows Insider Preview build (here) works a dream.

You can get an ARM version as part of the Windows Insider Program, free to sign up if you’re not already a member.

I was hoping for a kind of emulation...
With the M1's extra speed I was hoping that it would be fine...

I'm especially *ahem* patient *ahem* as I have to enjoy these things vicariously because I'm not allowed my M1 until bloody Christmas Day
