while I havn't done so myself, I am pretty surer you can do it right on the iPhone in the Photos app (Edit) ...
You sir are correct! Well, the Photos app on Mac has that option, so I think it is likely you can do that in the Photo app on an iPhone as well. I would checkmating but I like doing graphics stuff on a large monitor (34" Ultrawide connected to my Mac Pro).

So I have 2 good apps to use for B&W photo conversion.

yep, just tried it on a random photo on the phone, edit, adjust, saturation ... and then some more settings right there ... I just copy all my iPhone photos onto my iMac and then manage in LR/PS ... iPhone is great for a lot of things but not for everything ;)

Yeah, I have gotten into the habit of taking pictures with the iPhone and using Seashore on the Mac for any graphic work I want to do. Some of that is because my usage of Seashore on Macs goes back to my 2005 Mac mini, so I have been using Seashore (mostly creating nice wallpapers for my desktop background) for some time now.
