Another cockpit, replica of Glenn Curtiss' first flying boat, The America. 2007 Olympus E-10
Getting her ready for her first flight. Original plane flew in 1918, this plane has two of the original V-8 engines.
Original 1918 V-8 engine, two more engines were being rebuilt, but were not finished in time for the first flight. Original engine didn't have enough power to lift plane off the water, it flew the next year with rebuilt engines, unfortunately I wasn't in town when it did. I have a photo of it flying if I can get dispensation to post a friends photo.
Glenn Curtiss did far more for aviation than the Wright Brother ever dreamed of. All they did was to bicker over patents after their flight.

Engine from a newer car (2018 Toyota 86). Although this is a Toyota, the car was a joint venture with Subaru and the engine is a Subaru boxer.

That's the most realistic hood ornament I've ever seen. Or is it a fender ornament? Either way........
When my son was three he "helped" my dad work on one of his cars. 🙂
