I'm going to cheat on this one... "I did not take this photo", my dad did. This is le tour de France sometime, probably, mid to late 70's. We would go most years to a mountain stage... Photo completely unaltered and is a scan from a negative.

Watch it every year. I don't know how they can do it. Best I ever did was 60 miles in one day, damn near died.

Next to the Carbon River going towards Mt. Rainier. Warning Sign:

On my "to-do" list when visiting my daughter. No Swiss leg this year, but last year when we didn't visit, was a mile from my daughters home along a road we typically cross when walking to Lake Geneva (Lac Leman). Envious of the photos she took. This year will be there, but no Swiss legs and closest north is Moiranes-En-Montagne to Poligny on July 21st. Perhaps better is to the south on July 15 Annemasse (just south of Geneva) to Morzine with the route close to the south shore of Lac Leman, doable taking a ship to the direct cross lake ports of Yvoire or Evian, but walkable??? if taking a connecting ship along the south shore to Port de Sciez. Probably focus more on the Jazz Festival at Montreux which is very convenient with direct train.

As a medical professional I used to work with the Rabobank team (and a few other teams from time to time) on their cardio care. When doing endurance and peak tests I sometimes would outperform some of the pro's (not the top riders like Rasmussen, Boogert, Dekker, McEwen).

I have a love for cycling and F1 ;)

Enjoy your new lens! For some reason I thought you'd already received it a while ago....
Arrived May 10th. Ironic that first photo taken was of a butterfly which fit with the theme/series of this thread. Next day took it to wetland, posting a few here, but series interrupted by other photo events since then (Kennedy Space Center, pulled out for hawks watching me mow the yard, and kicking myself at local garden when person advised me of an owl just up the trail. Debated about going out to the car and getting the lens, andticipating the own way up in the trees. I am looking way up, then I see him, literally along the edge of the trail about 10' up. My 95mm was almost too long!)

Did about 3 miles on the Wetlands hike with my typical set-up, monopod and always a shoulder strap. Got a little heavy as changed carrying positions frequently. Thought about waist carry separate from monopod that would clip onto belt, so available as an option, otherwise hand holding. Bought a Peak Design Capture, and while saw the advantage of shifting weight to belt, really did not like the PD Capture and returned it today. Will probably get a replacement foot with built in Arca Swiss mount vs Sony's standard that had to mount a plate to. Sliding the foot into the belt was similar to the PD Capture and much easier. Obviously with both have additionally secured using the sling strap.
