I need to pop down the road and visit them again soon.Absolutely!!! Alfred is smiling and waving to his cousin across the Big Pond right now.....
Visiting there was one of the most powerful emotional experiences I've ever had. The experience defies description, at least for those of us that were aware enough though the 60s and early 70s.
Your's and mine both look like puff balls. Your's right before the gust of wind and mine right after.
I am with you. When I was living in CA in the 80's I read a story in the National Geographic about the young girl that won the design competition for the new Vietnam War Memorial, it was so simple yet so moving. I swore to my self that I would see this as soon I could. Years later while working on the design of communications systems for military hospitals I had several meetings in DC at the Corps of Engineers. Every time we went, we all walked over the Memorial. It is something that everyone should see once in their lifetime. The following is a picture of the WWll war memorial, it is well done, but doesn't have the impact of the VWM.Visiting there was one of the most powerful emotional experiences I've ever had. The experience defies description, at least for those of us that were aware enough though the 60s and early 70s.
Thank you for posting this.
