Sweet! Back in 1997 I attended an IT support conference in Reno. My co-worker and I went to the place where the Lake Placid Olympics (I think that was the place we went) was held and did some snowboarding.
Lake Placid Winter Olympics were in 1980 and I believe that’s in NY state...
Squaw Valley was 1960 and that’s in the Reno vicinity... though in CA 😸

You know, I knew something was off about saying Lake Placid was in CA, but for some reason Squaw Valley didn't sound like where we went. But I trust your knowledge over mine, so if Squaw Valley is not too far off from Reno then that is where we went. 👍

Geography, even US geography, was a subject which was not very well covered when I was in school and to this day I still am not really good at knowing where places are, either around this country or around the world. More than once I have embarrassed myself by making a huge gaffe on something which other people knew and were surprised when I didn't. Thank heaven for Google and such these days!
