Mt Sonder, West McDonnell National Park, Northern Territory by Andrew Priest, on Flickr

Our first view of Mt Sonder (Rwetyopme), the starting point of our 223 Km walk of the Larapinta Trail in 2005.

We were dropped off at Redbank Gorge carpark having done two food drops on the way out. We camped here for a couple of nights to allow for a climb of Mt Sonder.

The camera used was a Canon IXUS 500 not a Powershop A80 as suggested.

Breaking the rules with two photos in one... Climbing mount Kilimanjaro in record tempo (well it probably wasn't a record). 3 hours to the first point (before walking the glacier) and 4 hours to the top where 7/8 hours is normal. I did not take the pictures, my guide took them, with my Canon IXUS 300 (still one of my all time favorite cameras). You can't tell but in the second photo where I was at the top I was completely hallucinating crazy colors flying around due to the quick altitude changes.

July Snow capped mountains visible on horizon from Milan airport. Initially thought might be French Alps, Mt Blanc, but on map too far west. Due northwest of Milan is Swiss Alps in the vicinity of the Matterhorn. Based on ridge shape (not a single point like Matterhorn) and flight timing, probably Weisshorn.
