Okay. Being relatively serious. The challenge was made in good fun and accepted in good fun.

My cat is photographically uncooperative. I could have put up 10 lousy picts and been done, but that's not my style. I decided to do something fun and different.

The tiles in the first image are from 9 different photos.

Skitty Mosaic - 9 tile black.jpg

I wanted to do something extra special for number 10. The image speaks for itself. The Easter egg is that all of the tiles in the mosaic are from a bit over 2,200 of my mineral and gem images. I told you, I have hundreds of them. (Most, of course, are unprocessed images.)

so, fill me in, the mosaic, did you use widsmob to do this? I assume so as it appears to be a watermark ... so I checked them out and if I understand correctly you start of with your "target", select however many "
source" images you want to use to create it and the the SW picks and chooses from your source images? And in the final image, when you drill down into a tile, you can see the details of your source image. Pretty cool actually, have you used this before? Or, since there's that watermark, is this with the free trial? Would be interested how large that final image actually is, I mean in file size, and how much it took to process etc, so anything that you can share I'd appreciate.
Again, nicely done! I'll give you a raincheck for your next "fauxpas" :p

I used to have a mosaic program that wouldn't work on this computer. It was just too old. I don't really need one anyway. I just found one that works so I could do this. The final images were surprisingly small. The jpg was 5MB and the png was about 13MB. Those files got high when I started processing them in PSE. Processing time was very short - less than a minute. The only downside with this program is that all of the tile images have to be in a single folder. It doesn't drill into sub-folders.
