How hoppy? I generally find American IPAs a bit OTT, although I not that it is called Imperial IPA - to what does the Imperial refer?
Definitely hoppy. I like IPAs, but I also like nut-flavored beers and chocolate flavored beers as well.

I will drink this again (I did buy a four pack), but it might be a while before I buy it again. Not an indictment of this beer, far from it, but there as sooooo many good choices for micro-brewery beer. I was looking for some Three Floyd's beer and I saw some, but not Space Station Middle Finger (yes that is really a beer), so I tried this one. 🍺

EDIT: I missed the question from @StrollerEd, in my first response, about what Imperial IPA really is. I don't know offhand, but I found the following after searching on DuckDuckGo, and it seems accurate as far as this beer goes:

Beer Advocate - Beer Styles: "Take an India Pale Ale and feed it steroids, and you'll end up with a Double or Imperial IPA"
Brew Wiki - Imperial IPA: "Imperial IPA is a recent American invention created by microbrewers pushing the envelope with strong beers"

This matches what I have tasted in this IPA and other strong IPAs.

Great Lakes doesn't make anything bad. It's only a question of which you like better. They also have a restaurant that is very good.
Cool, I did not know that, but I am not surprised since it seems to be not uncommon for micro-brewers to also have a pub/restaurant. Is this (Great Lakes restaurant) in the Cleveland area?

Also, I think I have had Great Lakes beer before and liked it. 🍺 👍

So, I know you like Innis & Gunn because this isn't the first time you have mentioned them. Are they a UK beer?

I ask because I think I will be watching to see if I can find them in a local store, and knowing where their beer "comes from" will help me set my expectations as to whether or not I can (easily) find them in Columbus, OH, USA.

I was able to pick up some Innis & Gunn a while back (well over a year now, actually) at a Total Wine and Beverage store, so check that out if there is one available in the Columbus area...... Have to admit, though, that it wasn't one of my favorites once I had tasted it. Been a long time now since I've been back to Total Wine.....need to make a little drive over there one of these days soon!

One beer that I did enjoy from the UK is Old Speckled Hen..... worth a try, anyway!
