Set up a little too close to the drop area and got nicely peppered with the marshmallows on the fringe. OOPS!
His siren was used as the "Start" signal, giving the all clear after the helicopter left, for the kids to run across the baseball field to collect. Won't show the mad dash tomorrow as too many of other people's kids in it to post on Internet. Didn't make the same mistake with the other 2 drops...including the last on in this same field.

Not posted in awhile so a blast from the past, taken this time 9 years ago on April 5 with my Sony Cybershot.

Looking south from a bridge overy the Sarine river in the Swiss town of Fribourg. The river is one of the natural frontiers of the "rostigraben" the frontier between French-speaking Switzerland - here on the right - and German-speaking Switzerland. Fribourg is one of the towns and cantons which are notable for being bilingual. Rosti by the way are a typical Swiss German speciality similar to hash-browns.

It was early Tue morning which may be the reason for the lack of people at the beach. True reason I was over there is that mother was in ICU at Tampa General (much better now, discharged and transferred to Rehab yesterday) stayed overnight rather than the daily roundtrip like did week prior and wasn't conscious the entire day. Stayed at Rocky Point (near airport where SR60 causeway begins crossing to Clearwater) with room overlooking overlooking bay, had to make crossing to the beach that AM. While has been about 15 years since last there, was a bit disappointed. Spoined growing up where equidistant from Daytona Beach and Clearwater Beach so had choice of where to go. What got me were the cabanas that really altered to beach that previously was throw a towel down anywhere (and great sights as stroll along.) These cabanas are semi-permanent hard/impossible to reposition, blocking view of gulf from sidewalk (and people sunbathing/wading) there is no sun protection in the afternoon, and only blocks wind from east, not like it was today from the west. Knowing what I know, there are far better beaches as I cross my former #1 off my list. Still great for the secondary activities.
It being early morning would explain it. We prefer the beach adjacent to the Mandalay Park. Far less crowded. It would be difficult to see a place (or places) you loved growing turn into primarily tourist areas. They do rotate the cabanas, I guess in response to wind direction. Glad your mom is improving. Mine is 84 and took her first ride in an ambulance last fall after fainting. Turns out she had a bladder infection.
