We photographers just have the same opinions about camera gear instead. It's totally the camera's fault when the shot doesn't turn out, and those darn manufacturers just aren't doing enough to bring our skill out. Why they can't just deliver an 8-300mm F1.2 pancake lens is beyond me.

Been on a budget (or quite a few) setup(s) for many years and it's only the last couple of years I've had the possibility to upgrade to somewhat premium gear, but as I've stated earlier, now I just can't blame the gear if the images turn out like cr**. :D

To all the regular posters on the Digital Photography sites, what a welcome relief it is to see your photographs and comments.

I just watched the Apple Special Event, and there are some really great new products coming down the pike with much improved performance and design. But to read the comments by all the nay sayers is very depressing, nothing is ever any good enough, they all think they are experts. They should have done this or that. The rip apart the design of the new iMac which absolutely gorgeous in its minimalist design. As a stock holder I am impressed by the depth of the technology, advancements in design and concern for the environment. Can't wait to get a new iMac!
Same here - sadly I am not surprised about the overflow of negative comments by the trollish/churlish posters.

I wasn't considering an iMac before, because I have a nice AOC 34" Ultrawide monitor that I bought back in November to use with my 2014 Mac mini. So I was planning on getting an M1 Mac mini or maybe the rumored/desired "Mac Pro mini" since I already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse that I like.

Now I am thinking seriously about getting an M1 iMac. It will be more expensive, so I still may get the M1 mini, but these new iMacs look great. But, given that there will be a huge demand for these, I don't think I could realistically buy one before the WWDC in June. And there may be more sweet Apple Silicon Mac announcements then, so patience is a virtue. It is good to have an abundance of good Mac options for my next desktop.

Wait? It’s just occurred to me. Did you just switch to Sony because part of the camera is orange?
As a graduate of the University of Florida (orange and blue), I approve of that decision. And if I do go with an M1 iMac, either orange, blue or silver are the colors I would likely choose. ?

So yesterday I posted a picture showing Watson waiting to be given her treats. So a little later I put out treats for all our cats, and then went to put out some food for the 2 outdoors cats. As I go back to the treat jar to put the cup back in, here is what I saw:

I love your Sinclair. You seem like a very wise and nice guy. Can you shed light on how to move on after the passing of a beloved feline friend? I'm having a bit of trouble. And my neighbor kindly told me that "no, you never move on". What???

One thing helped us (my wife and I) move on after Sherlock died of cancer a few days before Christmas last year: He had FIV and we expected he would have a shorter life. But it still hurt that he only lived about 5 1/2 years instead of around 8 years (which we hoped).

Even still, I honestly expected we would still be more upset when Sherlock died. The only thing I can figure is that since he had FIV we knew his days were limited.

But we still miss him, just like you miss your loved cat.

And it probably helps that we still have 5 cats, too. ?????

Plus we do eventually come to grips with every cat we have lost since we got married in 2003 (at least 8 or 9 cats, offhand). It just takes some time. And you will still have all the great memories of your cat. Plus the pictures. ?
