🏰 CASA LOMA 🏰

Toronto's Majestic Castle - House on the Hill - The Only True Castle in North America
Completion Year: 1914 - 64,700 sq. ft.

A prime example of modern Toronto’s commitment to its rich history, Casa Loma was first built in 1914 by financier Sir Henry Pellatt. The castle located in midtown Toronto is now owned by the City of Toronto and is regarded as a treasured heritage landmark.

Casa Loma took three years and $3.5M to build. Sir Henry Pellatt filled Casa Loma with priceless artwork from Canada and around the world. Casa Loma stood as a monument to its creator – it surpassed any private home in North America.

Unfortunately, Sir Henry Pellatt’s fortunes could not sustain the magic that was Casa Loma. To finance expansion, Pellatt, and Pellatt went further and further into debt 💰. Today, Casa Loma is one of North America’s most enchanting tourist attractions and best hospitality / special event venues in Toronto.

Another of the red panda. My 6 y/o grandson “adopted/sponsored” him to assist with feed and care that was given to him as a gift. While he lives in Switzerland, currently on vacation in Italy. While at the zoo in CT, we texted photos and he saw us on the live cams at both the otter and monkey displays. Also FaceTimed us from Italy when we were on live cam.
