Isla Judith was born yesterday afternoon at a healthy 6 lbs. 150z. Baby and mom are worn out, but healthy and doing well. This is my third grandchild, but the first from my youngest daughter. So excited! View attachment 2369075

Fair question! Actually, we've had this lone Great Blue Heron around here for about four or five years. He could well be a different GBH from the one I initially dubbed "Alfred" -- I really don't know -- but that's OK, I'll still call him by that name anyway!

I hadn't noticed before, but Great Blue Herons actually have quite large wingspans.
