An old friend of mine used to Captain the A.J. Meerwald schooner that has been restored and is now at the museum in Bi-Valve NJ. Beautiful boats and interesting history ... The Meerwald is used as a floating classroom and gets regular use.
The Meerwald sails up to the Hudson once or twice a year to the Alpine Boat Basin . Always find out about it too late to get tickets . The Robbins looks to be a bit smaller . For quite a few years it did the wine and cheese harbor cruise circuit but was laid up after the recession and fuel price hikes . Spoke to the owner who was involved in the romantic seafaring job of scraping paint . Got the feeling he's debating either putting it back in the water or selling it

Love it. Love the angle, love the B&W high contrast effect. Timeless apart from seeing the freedom tower to allow timing estimate.
Cheers Kenoh, took this earlier this year. A pretty gray, featureless day so ideal for B&W - also helped with the relatively brutal construction of the bridge.

Kids as subjects are up there with cats and flowers as things that people love to photograph and share but which don't necessarily inspire the same feelings in those viewing the photos.

Having said that, wanted to share this 11 month old pic of my son :) Have shared other pics of him here before, so kind of in for a penny...

Meals have been getting quite a bit messier recently...

The massive 18 metre tall Quan Yin statue not too far from me on the South Coast of Adelaide. I'm going back with the tilt-shift lens and tripod for this same POV, but with all of her in frame and some people in front to show her immense scale.

It is incredible when you think these things were made by someone with a hammer and a chisel. By hand, no laser guided cutters, no 3d printers, no molds, no CNC machines...

Sorry I am taken by the craftsmanship of repeating stonework patterns at the moment. Fascinated by their ability to make multiple copies of a pattern in stone by hand!

Fantastic shot.
