Patience will pay off....
2 weeks ago i stood with a mountain bike propped against my torso for 23 minutes filming a blue huron, took 45 photos, posted only 4 on flickr, 3 were of the bird in flight. that was a happy half an hour!

Great!
P.S. What FL/Lens is it - around 25mm?

Hi, Thanks :) it was a bit tighter at 50mm (leica 1.4 summilux), bit cropped of the bottom. That fjord is also deceptively big, i know the mountains either side reach somewhere over 1400m (or in english terms nearly one and a half snowdowns)

He's a pic with a small town/village in it to give a sense of scale..thats not a 100% crop...those houses have been rez'd up 1000%!!

This is a “selfie.” My wife calls it “the realtor.”

I've been MIA for a bit now, there's been a heck of a lot going on here for me just recently, part of which resulted in the following. The launch for this exhibition is tomorrow afternoon, but everything's up and ready for it already.
Best wishes Alex. Love the framing btw. To my way of thinking, a great image should have a simple frame and mat that lets the image speak for itself.
Loving this series.
Thanks AFB. :)
Straight out of camera. Comments always appreciated.

This is outstanding @anotherscotsman and a great example unconventional (outside the norm, breaking the rules type thing) composition/framing that works so well.
Wow, Peter!

Beautiful

Stunning.
Thank you all. Hard to go too far wrong with the beautiful soft light of the Arctic.

I am a big fan.....I've been following her since 2010; yes, her voice is gorgeous! I have all of her albums plus I have been to several concerts, including the one she did at the Ocean City NJ Music Pier this past Sunday. Wonderful concert! It has been fun following her career as she has gone from being that ten-year-old with the astonishing voice wearing a red dress on AGT to the lovely 18-year-old young adult with an even more astonishing voice that she is now.

Jackie does concerts out in California from time to time....maybe at some point she'll be at a theatre or concert hall near you!

Stunning, Peter! Print it as a metallic print mounted on board so it floats and is frameless, preferably huge!

Best wishes Alex. Love the framing btw. To my way of thinking, a great image should have a simple frame and mat that lets the image speak for itself.
Thanks, Peter, me too. I am very minimal with my framing, so it's subtle, but a nice quality. I didn't go with a strong white this time around, I went with a slightly off white, which interestingly has brought out more of the whites in the images!

Jeff, that's brilliant! I gather this was a further experiment with what achieved those micro spots of liquid in an earlier image? To me it looks like liquid that's been affected by sound in some strong way! I sense a fantastic series to come from these for you.

She is fantastic, I marveled at her ability to sing Italian opera at 12, in Italian!

Years ago Jackie hooked me when she sang "O Mio Babbino Caro" and "Nella Fantasia"...... "Pie Jesu" totally swept me away...... "Ombra Mai Fu" was a favorite the very first time I heard it back then and it remains so even today. I was thrilled hearing Jackie sing it again this past Sunday, as it had been a while.

Hearing this little girl singing "Nessun Dorma" at the age of ten, eleven.... was mind-blowing. Then for a while she stopped singing it. After a long absence of that song from her repertoire, concert-goers in Shippensburg, PA a couple of years ago were astounded when she sang it once again -- in her now more mature, still incredibly beautiful voice -- heh, it practically blew the roof off the theatre! As one, the audience rose to its feet as the final, note-perfect "Vincero" faded away and we celebrated her in a full standing ovation. We were ecstatic. Happily for concert audiences, she has kept it as part of most of her performances since then.

Yes, she is an amazing singer with a truly remarkable vocal ability.....
