Summer in Colorado - at least along the Front Range prairies - produces lots of yellows and purples. Something purple and unknown (to me) out at Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The plant is right around my height (6'), occasionally taller.

Very nice! The ones around my yard look like that one, and just a few fireweed flowers are showing their colors at the highest points of the plants. There is a "saying" that when the fireweed flowers are on the uppermost branch of the plant, summer summer has ended. Now it is the rainy season in the interior of Alaska (heavy rain at the moment), so I have been taking lots of photos of the rain drops on the Irises and other plants.

These are wild onion (chives) flowers, photo taken a couple of months ago (oil paint effect):

This is a followup to yesterday's bakery photo. The township of Yalaha, population 1345, has 2 businesses. Blink and you miss them as, while different owners, they are next to each other. Blue Bayou Farms has the obvious goods and a pick your own blueberry field to the rear. However, since this picture was taken, they have expanded with a complete new line of goods and I may have to plan an outing soon. I saw on a local PBS program, Central Florida Roadtrips, as they focused on Lake County they included the farm (but not the bakery) it now has an active still within the store with the first and only State moonshine license. Don't know if they give free samples..but...
