Thanks! I like the way the grasses bend with the wind. The dry stream takes up much of the courtyard, and they have planted several different flowers and the tall grasses along its banks. Looks rather nice, and better than just a grass lawn.
Cheers!
Yes, they do look nice and offer good photo-taking possibilities depending on the weather and light.

Last one for August, this time of one of our rescue dogs, Finn, looking quite soppy.

Don't be fooled by his cute looks; this dog has the sharpest front teeth the postman has ever experienced.
I hasten to add, he didn't bite the postman but he rushed out past me and was hanging off the post bag by his teeth ;)

Cheers :)

Cute face! Reminds me of "Nikki," our family pet? "Person", according to my wife.

This one shows what happens to the beautiful Fireweed plants after pollinating. The stems or branches (whatever these are), explode with seeds that travel in the wind:

Last summer sometimes when I was shooting Alfred I would see him standing there with his mouth open and his tongue rapidly flipping up-and-down, with his throat sort of gently ballooning in-and-out. He was always too far away for me to hear if he were singing or vocalizing, and he wasn't eating anything. The other day I noticed he was doing the same thing while standing on the pier, and this time I remembered to look in Google and see if I could find some explanation of this behavior.

It's called "gular fluttering," and he does it to cool himself down on a hot day. Definitely that afternoon was a hot and very humid one, so this explanation makes perfect sense! Why he didn't just get in the water and chill out that way I have no idea, but he seemed happy enough to just stand on the pier for a long time......
